This was ard continues: \ "The Republican congressman of the local 12th district inspected the U. S. supply complex at Cam Ranh Bay, 200 miles northeast of Saigon, and was encouraged that American air superiority arid extension of supply lines would soon halt the Communist Viet Cong movements. . .. Throughout his. speech, presented by invitation from the Current Events club, Rep. McClory expressed faith in the military leadership of the American forces. He reported that Generals Abbey and Eubanks, with whom he had stayed in Saigon, had asked him, when he returned home, to 'tell the non-military not to tell us how to win the war.' Desire Support "Our policy of the last 20 years is having an effect, and we are holding the Communists back wherever they are asserting themselves,' summarized Rep. McClory. The reaction of the Vietnamese people to his visit, the congressman said, showed that American support is sincerely desired, and it is important that the United States honor its commitment to them. 'The whole course of human history,' he emphasized, 'will be determined by what happens today in South Viet Nam.' When interviewed after the speech, Rep. McClory added that his talks with two Vietgiv$ Un a report by Howard j namese cabinet members had Brody, junior at M.C.H.S., in I indicated to him that the South Vietnamese g o v e r nment is stable enough to last out the conflict. "Soon after the last House session adjourned, the Judi ciary sub-committee, which includes Rep. McClory, made a tour of Pacific military installations to investigate claims filed against the government, From the Philippines the rest of the committee returned home, while Rep. McClory con tinued by himself to Saigon The response of his constituents to his first-hand report indicated that the situation in Asia is 'foremost in the minds of our citizens,' the congressman said. Morale High "In response to a question from the audience, Rep. McClory replied that the anti-war protests were not adversely affecting the high morale of U.S. troops. However, many soldiers thought that more severe action should be atken against the demonstrators. He received more complaints, the Repre sentative reported, from the soldiers that they desired more letters and newspapers from home, and he urged that these requests be met by friends and relatives of servicemen. "After his speech, the Congressman remained to converse with Mercury Do, Mc- Henry's foreign exchange student from Da Lat, South Viet Nam." This warning was sounded today by Professor A. E. Neyhart, Director Emeritus, Institute of Public Safety, Pennsylvania State university. Professor Neyhart, who is nationally recognized as the "father of driver education," told motorists they must be able to see and be seen if they are to survive during hazardous winter driving conditions. "Reduced visibility due to sleet, fog rain and snow, plus longer hours of darkness, make winter driving far more dangerous," Professor Neyhart said. "Motorists must use extra care in driving and pay more attention to vehicle maintenance." The safety specialist warned motorists to clean the entire windshield as well as the side and rear windows and not to try to get by with a small peephole in the windshield. "You have to see all of the roadway and also both sides and the rear," he warned. 5-7 Foot Beautiful 5450 DOWN -- to qualified buyers. 3 Bedroom Ranch in excellent condition. Full basement.
