There is suppose to be a pack meeting next Tuesday but without a cubmaster it will be impossible to have one. Contact your den mother before going over to the meeting to make sure the meeting is still being held. Strolling Through the Park Herbie Dettmer celebrated his eighth .birthday New Year's Day with his aunts and uncles coming out for a delicious turkey dinner prepared by his mother. These two hooligans are the off-spring of their dog, Duchess, who was the proud mother of twelve about six weeks ago. The two are called Duffy and Murphy and really have the household in a fUror. Harry and Grace Meinike, Roy's folks, have been receiving a variety of greeting cards lately. ^They recently celebrated tffieir golden wedding anniversary with open house attended by some fifty people. Following this momentous occasion, they each had their turn in the hospital, but all is well now with both home and back on the road to recovery. LaVerne Hromec saw her dad, Mr. Cornett of Colorado, for a brief visit while he was in the area. She has been busy lately helping little Beverly convalesce from a tonsillectomy at McHenry hospital last week. With the help of good old ice cream, Bev is feeling her old self again. Mr. and Mrs. Pulver of Meadow Lane had their grandchildren, Brad and Buffy, visit them over the holidays. Nothing like that to make a proud pair of grandparents happy. Mike McEnery left last week to report for duty at Naval base in Pensacola, where he will be taking a course in communications. If every one could be assured of a base in Florida during the winter months, there would be a swarm of enlistments about this time of the year. Jim McEnery is home from the hospital and is still recuperating from recent surgery. Hope that he makes a quick recovery and is up and around soon. Get-well wishes are also extended to Mary Lou Wilkins who is back at Memorial hospital in Woodstock. A pretty sneaky way to get out of doing the dishes, I'd say. Best of luck to Chuck and Mary Pierce and son, Michael, who moved into their new home at 4908 Bonner Road just before Christmas. May you have many happy years in our community.
