Kiwanis Club Sunday, March 6 The 'McHenry Community Blood Donor Bank, sponsored by the McHenry Kiwanis club, will hold its next drawing on Sunday, March 6. Anth6ny Corcoran, Kiwanis Blood Bank committee chairman, announced recently that the Michael Reese Hospital Blood center mobile unit will come to McHenry and set up at the McHenry American Legion hall. "We need more donors," Mr. Corcoran said at a recent Kiwanis irieeting. Applications are at the McHenry State Bank or persons interested in donating may telephone 385-2500 and give their name and other details.' Donors will be called and an appointment made for a definite time. It has* been found that Sunday is .the best day to have the drawing because many people work during the week and mothers with pre - school age children are unable to obtain babysitters. The McHenry community has been very cooperative in donating blood in the past. Because the mobile unit will be available once a month and the McHenry Kiwanis club, desires to expand the base of the blood donor bank, many more donors are needed. A donation of one pint of blood is not only assurance for you and your family, but for those less, fortunate than you, that their blood needs will be taken care of. All year - round residents in the community will be covered for their blood needs when hospitalized anywhere in the United States. The donor covers his immediate family with his donation or he may specify another family. All healthy individuals between 21 and 59 years of age may don a t e (persons between 18 - 21 years of age, can donate with written permission from their parent or guardians). When you are called to donate, you will be examined by medical personnel. Offer Two Services Sunday, March 6, will be another milestone in the history of Shepherd of The Hills Lutheran church. In order to accommodate a growing congregation, two Sunday services will be offered. Each service, 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., will be complete with Sunday school, coffee time and "talk back.' Special Lenten services are being offered every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., at which time Pastor D.D. Johnson is delivering sermons on \ the seven deadly sins.
