Section Throe Pap Two THE McHENHY PLAINDEALER Thursday, Ma^ 101966 SUNNYSIDE VILLAGE RUBY CROWLEY PHO 85-2662 MILLIE MONDL IN HOSPITAL AFTER MAJOR STXRGERY Irma Gunthor reports that Millie Mondl is coming along pretty good after her major spinal operation. She has been in the Evanston hospital for several weeks and at this writing there's no telling when she will be home. Don't you think it Wotild be nice if she could get some "Get Well" cards from some of her neighbors. Dogs, Again Obviopsly, we reporters are much concerned about stray dogs. I'm beginning to think they are homeless because surely no person would let their pet roam like these dogs do. When they attack a bunch of big geese' and kill them on one of nearby farmer's farm you wonder why they would do that unless they are starved and have no home. Lately there are packs which means there are four and five in a bunch. Most of us are afraid to take a walk and from now on it will get worse. I know that something should be done and quick because this couid be a dangerous situation if it keeps up. Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Pflug, Bud and Marion, and their little Pflugs, Ru|h, Kathy, Budy and Cindy, all attended a twenty-fifth wedding anniversary for Mrs. Pflug's sister in \Maywood. Many gifts were presented to the happy couple and all the participants had a grand ,time dancing, eating and playing games. Scouts The Cub Scouts are planning on a gay time when they have one of their outings on Mar. 9 at a plant in Woodstock. Hockey The children are still playing hockey nightly on the channel but it won't be for long because all the ice will soon disappear and the boats will take their place. Major Operation Last week I informed my readers about little Stevie Williams being admitted to the Michael Reese hospital'for surgery. At present he is convalescing from a kidney operation arid believe me. we are all pulling for our little boy to come home very soon. Maybe some of you could take time out to let him know how we feel- \ I Goofed Last week I called Eleanor Mangold and I thought it was she that answered the phone -- so I jotted down-~a piece of news that she gave me, and now I hear that Mrs. Mackinson had answered the phone instead of*' -Eleanor. So it was Mrs. Mackinson's daughter that visited out here instead of Eleanor's please lorgive. Celebration Our new neighbors, Guy and Sandy Ambrose, were honored with a big double duty surprise party last week at their home. Their friends and relatives from far and near came with lots of lovely gifts for their seventh wedding anniversary and also a house warming. Luckily they came early which gave the Ambroses time to purchase some goodies for a buffet luncheon. Had News I received word that my sister's husband. Phil Hastings, of McHenry became very ill while at work in Grayslake and was' rushed to the St. Therese hospital in Waukegan. At this writing he is goinq through various tests to determine the cause of this unexpected attack. My sister. Lake, is praying for his quick recovery. So now I will dose shop 'till MAIOR Pat Borcovan--385-3812 Frieda Durkin--385-5072 PROPERTY OWMERS DISCUSS PATH TO HILLTOP SCHOOL The February meeting of the E.M,P,O.A, was held on the 18th of the month at the barn at 8:30. The big brown eyes are thoughtful, the small face earnest as Mary Anne considers the universe. Sometimes our pint-sized inquisitor's <juestions are devastatingly funny, sometimes deadly serious; but always important. Harry and I may chuckle over them, but "we never forget that these queries reflect Mary Anne's increasing awareness of the world qbout her. We know that our answers and attitudes are an important part of her development. Another influential portion of Mary Anne's growth, we feel, has been her regular attendance at Church School. There, Mary Anne's experiences with other children have been related to God's plan. The tiny kitchen or play garage in the skilled teacher's capable hands becomeB the training ground for Christian behavior. How glad we are that our church is well equipped to guide our child in her religious growth. Attend your church. Take advantage of the inspiration and knowledge it is eager to share with you and your children. + mm ••W-XvXfi{ft •X-KvX-IvSw Copyright 1966 Keister Advertising Service, Inc., Strasburg, Va.
