Recovery From Eye Surgery It sure is a pleasure to see our neighbor Joe Comarotta, out doing his" daily walk routine which we all have observed for mapy years. Joe had eye surgery last fall which forced him to be confined for a few months and at the same time he managed to play Doctor to his wife who has been HI for many months but is doing fine at this writing. Fabulous Wedding Joe a and Jeanie spent the weekend i:i Chic; /> with Jennie's sister and her husband. And also they attended a friend's wedding at a huge hall with hundreds of people, orchestra and loads of food. Some People Sure Live It Up I had a vis.it wjth a dear friend of mine, Mrs. Blowers, at Pistakee Lake. When I get around. for this special visit it takes me hours to cover the beautiful unique souvenirs which they have collected in all parts of the world. For a water break, they have a 10 ft. concrete wall inlaid with large stone pebbles which her husband made by hand ,a huge barbecue equipped -with a waterfall and a hand moulded concrete sink for dish washing. I was much impressed when she showed me her sprouting garden seeds in a miniature hot house which is supplied with electric heat. There is -••an old fashion phone that hangs on the wall of their home which plays stereo when the receiver is lifted. Her husband's hand paintings can be seen in all parts of the house. A Get Together Received good news about Pat Olson's demonstration. She had the best of luck because many friends and neighbors were present. Delicious food and a good time was had by all. Doctor's Orders Steve Williams went in to have his check-up which is a requirement following surgery. The Doctor tells him to take it easy and he will be back in school in a short time. Last week when I was writing my column I tried to convince all of you that spring was here to stay - but it just didn't turn out that-a-way ph, well, maybe next week - who knows? WHISPERING HILLS Louise Giel Mary and Steve Elkins just eturned from Florida. They visited Steve's sister in Port Charlotte and also spent some time in Ft. Lauderdale. Many hours were spent in the sun as they both have a beautiful sun tan. Yisist With Relative's Florence and Lefty Weber spent a few days in Sycamore. They had a good time with relatives and brought home Aunt Mary whose home is in Brimfield near Peoria. We all fell in love with Aunt Mary.
