Memiters and guest? are asked to #>ring a decorated dessert box •for an old fashion box social. Final plans will be discussed '•for the Second annual Camp- "^-rama to be held Sunday, May L5, with a rain date of Sunday, 'May 22, at the McHenry city 'park. There will be a fine •array of tents, trailers and 'Camping equipment. More details Will appear at a later date. The public is invited to attend and enjoy the Camp-orama. DREAM FLIGHT PROCEEDS USED FORCHAHITY The Lions call if "Dream Flight 1980". This means an imaginary musical journey of 80 to 90 minutes live," on-stage variety. The show will consist on some sixty local people featuring the Big Band directed by Corbyn Hamby, two outstanding dance groups, The Bleasettes and the Continentals, The Liorts feel quite fortunate to have acquired Jim Olessen for their master of ceremonies. This production is designed for the whole family and includes a group of children in one of the acts. The show will take place Saturday, April 2, at 8 p.m. and will be repeated Sunday, April <3, at 7:30 p.m. at the high school auditorium. All proceeds will be used for .charity. GARDEN CLUB ENJOYS VISIT TO FLOWER SHOW The McHenry Garden club invited friends to Join them on their annual visit to the Flower Show on March 22. Thirty-two people took the chartered bus "and joined the thousands of .people from the mid-west area •enjoying the show. .* ^ jhis year, great emphasis is 4ieing placed on conservation "dnc! baautification at both the -local and national levels so it ^was very fitting to have The "Garden Club of Illinois, Inc. -select as the theme, "America the Beautiful". 1 . Throughout the show jone could hear the strains of "America the Beautiful". 1 As usual, there was more to flee than time permitted but 'With people splitting into small groups most everybody saw what they desired and it was a tired but happy and enthusiastic group that met with their purchases for the bus ride home. T Mrs. Charles Wagner, vicepresident, was missed by all. Her absence was caused by a fell the day before which resulted in a fractured kneecap that required surgery. All her friends wish her a speedy recovery in McHenry hospital. * Because of the bus trip, there $rill be no March meeting but the next one, will be held on Wednesday, April 20, at the tome of Mrs. Fred Dodge. This Is a change from the regular fneeting day since some of the Offers will be attending the annual meeting of the Chicago £lant, Flower guild on April 28. April 26 Will; be observed as Friends' Night. A bake sale will be held April 9 at Justen's furniture store. LIQTOE' CHARGE Bruce A. Smith, 16, and Brent T. Smith, 15, both of 8617 W. Sunset drive, Wonder Lake, were apprehended by Woodstock police last weekend and chargied With purchase or acceptance of a gift of alcoholic liquor by a person of nonage. ATTEND HEARINGS Mrs. Dorothy Pitzen, director of the McHenry County Association for Retarded Children school, Mrs. Pat Shively, teacher, and Mrs. Adelaide B. Patzke, director of the workshop, appeared March 23 at the Pick Congress hotel in Chicago at the hearings of the state Advisory Council on Mental Retardation. Mrs. Patzke was spokesman for the group and asked for transportation for the children through the public school system. The association school in this area is located at the First Bajptist church in McHenry.
