I, for one, feel safer to walk on our streets. There -«re two big shepherd type flogs in the vicinity of Lakeview and Riverview Drive that have bad habits of turning garbage cans upside down which is a menace to the heaWh of our people. It could be. avoided if the owners would hoijse their dogs or put them on a leash. Togetherness Last Sunday LaMar and his boys spent part of the day fishing down at the harbor. Now there's just myself and my little daughter Janice. Don't feel sorry for us, though, because we're managing pretty well. Last year when the blow came, I admit I went to pieces. We'd only lived in the neighborhood for a few weeks, and it's hard to say what would have happened if it hadn't been for our church. Suddenly I was surrounded by friends. The minister came at once with convincing words of comfort that helped me to face life again. His wife alerted other members and they brought meals, laundered clothing, took care of Janice, and ultimately found the wonderful elderly housekeeper we have now. I had never given much thought to the meaning of Christian fellowship^ Today I know that miracles of kindness can result when people unite in following the "perfect pattern" of self-sacrifice and unquestioning love. It is a storehouse of spiritual values. Without a strong Church, neither democracy nor civilization can survive. There . .-e four sound reasons why every person should attend services regiilarly and support the Church. They are: (1) For his own sake. (2) For hio children's sake. (3) For the sake of his community and - nation. (4) For the sake of tha Church itself, which needs his moral and material support. Plan to go to church regularly : and read your Bible daily.
