"Operatidn Clean Sweep" is now over and could be classified as past history. We wish we could say that the litterbug, with his or her littering, was finished and could be classified the same. We, the Millstream Campers have a suggestion: Please, parents, teach your children, the youngest to the oldest, to use the waste basket in the home, the litterbag in the car and the trash barrel in the park. This, we believe, is the only way we are going to keep America from becoming one big ugly country to travel through. The scars of littering are very deep, and much time and training are needed to heal them. To quote one of our members: "We can put up with June bugs and jitterbugs, but not H^terbilgs". PUBLIC PULSE (The Plaindealer invites the public to use this column as an expression of their Views on subjects of general interest in our community. Our only request is that writers limit themselves to 300 words or less signature, full addresJ and phone number. We ask, too, .that one individual not write on the same subject more than once each month. We reserve the right to delete any material which we • consider libelous or in objectionable taste.) In the Public Pulse letter published last week, written by Mrs. Nettie Sarley, a misplaced line gave an incorrect meaning to her statement. In referring to candidates and their past service, she said: "Did they ease the tax burden? Or did they look out for No. I at the expense of the taxpayer In this great country, under this great crisis where we still have the power of the ballot, let us all do our part to keep it that way, and the result will surprise you."
