F r o m t h e High Court was High Chief Ranger Lucy Domino of Rockford, High Treasurer Florence Welsch of Chicago, and High Trustee Angeline Mauer of Aurora. Also present were several officers of the Chicago Arch- Diocese association and Mrs. Louis Kagan, president of the Rockford Diocese • D.C.C.W. During the program following dinner, a check for the Seminarian fund was presented to Fr. Dording, who accepted for Bishop Lane, who was unable to attend because of meetings of the Post-Conciliar Commission tn Christian Education in Rome. Association Treasurer Evelyn Tandric of Crystal Lake made the presentation. The initiation class named the "Rev. John M. Dording Class of 1966" was presented, vocal selections by the junior and adult groups of St. Agatha court, No. 777, and piant solos by Mary Boynton and Julie Oeffling, junior court members, -provided the entertainment. Hie business meeting of the conference was presided over by the association president, Virginia Pitzen, of St. Agatha court. All the chief rangers of the attending courts gave a report of their spiritual and charitable activities during the past year. It was also announced that the annual Junior Forester Day throughout the diocese will again be the first Wednesday in August. A slate of officers was presented by the nominating committee. High Chief Ranger Lucy Domino then installed the officers for the 1966-67 term. The finishing touches were discussed for "Over the Rainbow Dance/' and the annual elections took place. New officers are President, Marlene Berg, First Vice-President- Carole Kennebeck, Second Vice- President- Pat Williams, Secretary - Sally Segerstrom and Treasurer, Irene May. After the meeting and election the women present enjoyed, eake ^nd coffee and made table decorations for the dance. All the women of the subdivision are welcome to any or all meetings of the Lucky Ladies Club. The May meeting will take place at the home of Carole Kennebeck on May 25. Happy Birthday To.. Jack Davis and nine year old Debra Fuqua, both celebrating their birthdays today, May 5. Bud Kennebeck, Walter Roy and eleven year old Ken Bott celebrate their birthdays on May 8. On May 10, Don Gerstein, Jack Kelso and seven year old Karen Hanahan celebrate their natal day. Jim McGowan will celebrate his day on the eleventh. Happy birthday all! Cub Scout Tour Our Cub Scouts of Pack 452, accompanied by their den mother, Pat Williams, and Carole Kennebeck, took an informative and enlightening tour of a local dairy. Mrs. Wolff started this hobby by going to Florida and picking up sea shells, finally she studied more about them and now takes pride in sharing them with anyone interested in seeing them. Home Again Jennie Schultz was released from the hospital recently and is doing very nicely at this writing. We all wish you a speedy recovery, Jennie. Extended Trip Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Kempeke of 1013 Althoff Drive returned last week on the liner TS "Bremen" after an extended Europan trip. The Kempckes left last November on the "Michael Angelo" for Naples. After a stay in Sorrento, Amalfi, Capri, Pompeii, Rome and a visit to the Vatican, they spent the Christmas holidays with relatives in Germany. YOUNG PUPIL PAYS TRIBUTE TO SUPERINTENDENT Linda Biggs, a sixth grader at McHenry Junior high school, wrote the following for an English class assignment in memory of the late Supt. Carl Buckner: OUR FRIEND Mr. Buckner was our friend, For all our troubles he could mend. He sat in classrooms to watch and listen, While many thoughts we did christen. He was the best superintendent we ever had, At times he acted like our Dad, He died of a sudden heart attack, Now a superintendent we lack. We hope the man who takes his place ' Will also keep xrs nat equal pace, A more devoted and friendly man we have never seen, His projects will served to keep our memory of him keen. To him we say farewell, For he served us well. DAIRY COUPLE CONTEST Avery A. Vose of Rt. 2, Antioch, president of Pure Milk association and director of PMA District 6, announced this week that competition for the 1966 title of outstanding young dairy couple of PMA is being this major dairy farmer cooperative. Pure Milk association has eighteen districts in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan. District 6 is composed o f d a i r y f a r m e r s f r o m Boone, Cook, Kane, Lake and McHenry counties, 111., and Kenosha and Walworth counties, Wis. This may be the motor age, but they are" all still rated by horsepower. Austria, Belgium and Holland. Odds and Ends Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell enjoyed the beautiful weather Sunday as they drove to Portage, Ind., to help 'celebrate Kay's Godchild's first Holy Communion. Timmy and his parents, Bernard and Ellen Hill, were quite thrilled to see their northern friends once again. Ray and June Fuller decided to take their converted school bus which is now equipped as a complete camper for a trial run to Wisconsin over the weekend. Ray spent a great deal of time and labor to make his camper a home away from home and I've heard his efforts have paid off . Cub News Den 2 of the Cubs held their meeting at Den Mother, Dottie Messer's home, Thursday.
