The Kollenkarks welcomed 6 lbs. 13 oz. Wayne at the Sherman hospital in Elgin on April 23. He has a 2% year old sister, Tammy, who thinks he is jutet great. Equally proud of their first grandson are the Harvey Palmers of Spring Grove Rdad. The pate rnal grandfather, Raymond Kollenkark, resides in Woodstock. This young man can also boast of two sets of great-grandparents. They are the Senior Harvey Palmers of Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. Jeppe Jepsen. Our very best happy wishes to all. The purpose of this trip was to par-, ticipate in the twenty-fifth anniversary celebration of Clara's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. George Logsdon. Tickets can be purchased at the doot. Another SucceM Under the Belt ' 7 The cbtnmittees of the Johnsburg Community Club in charge of the annual Ladies Night festivities have done it again this year. Each year thbs£ of Us whb attend these pafties say this is the best yet, and each yeat* it gets, better and better. This year was no exception. The committeein charge is to be congratulated on the wonderful evenirig that was offered to all. Some 300 people were in the club hall for this annual event dedicated to the ladies. I'm referring to something that happened to Ben • h'st Friday at the Pistak£ e golf Course and is a dream of ail golfers, a "hole in One." Ben was out on the course with* his Wife, Hilda, and Tony Pepping when this great event took place. BeH had his "hole in ope"' on. the fourth hole which is 140 yards. His head is still up in the clouds arid can't say that we blame him. Congratulations to him. GREAT BOOKS ' PROGRAM ENDS SECOND SEASON The McHenry Junior Great Books Program recently completed its second year of discussion groups. This community project gives elemehtary and high school students the opportunity to read and discuss - some of the books which have enriched and helped to shape civilization. Each discussion is conducted by two adult volunteers, traihed and certified by the Great Books Foundation. The six discussion groups, each of which met twelve times during the year, were led by Carolyn Hoffman, Barbara Fino, Eloise Elliott, Mohica Byrnes, Ann O'Brien, Marie Wilt, Kathi Porter, Jean Wheeiand, Julie Perry, Carole Ht> martn, Marianne Berman and Joanne. After the meeting concluded, all of the acting officers stayed for pictures, as did the honored guests. Downstairs, Jo found many gifts, candy and beautiful cakes.
