The division was formerly based at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. The 22-year-old soldier entered the Army in April, 1965, and received basic training at Fort Knox, Ky. He attended McHenry high school and was employed lo-k cally before entering the Army. His mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Maxson, lives in McHenry. LEE AMOUR Lee Amour has ' completed Tioot camp training at Great Lakes Naval Training center and is on a two-week leave from duty. A graduate of McHenry high school, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederic Amour of Island Lake. The young man, now a seaman apprentice, has been assigned to FTM school Great Lakes, where "he will continue his schooling to become a missile fire control technician before being assigned to a ship. Sutton, USN, son of Mrs. Dorothy Crawford of 3305 Manor Lane Eastwood Manor, McHenry, is serving at the Naval Support activity, Da Nang, Vietnam. He helps provide supplies and logistical support for the more than 60,000 American troops in this northern area of South Vietnam, During the month of March, more than 150,000 measured tons were off-loaded from ships in the Da Nang Harbor by men working in shifts, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This record surpassed the 127, 547 measured tons off-loaded in January by a wide margin.. Marine Private Lester R. Sergott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester J. Sergott of Wonder Lake, has completed individual combat training at Camp Pendelton, Calif. The four-week course included over 200 hours of instruction under simulated combat conditions, covering squad tactics,, guerrilla warfare, day and night combat, patrolling and the use of infantry weapons. Front, McHenry, is a rriember of the neWly-commissioned Naval Mobile. Construction Battalion 58 at Davisville, R.I. ' The unit is the second of four new construction battalions being activated by the Navy this year. The unit is numbered after the 58th Naval Construction Battalion of World War II which was awarded the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon for heroism in action against enemy forces in the Solomon Islands during August, 1943. Sp-4 Richard E. Greig, son of Sam and Patricia Tomasello of Pistakee Bay, has reenlisted in the Army for an additional six years. He is stationed at Self ridge Air Force base, Mich. The young man will be a candidate for officer's training. He and his wife reside on the base. Michael FitzGerald returned Monday after eleven months spent with the Army in Germany. COMPANY EARNINGS Northern Illinois Gas company, in its quarterly report to stockholders (May 1), revealed that earnings for the twelve months ended March 31, 1966, were $2.20 a share, compared to $2.09 for the 12 months ended March 31, 1965, and $2.23 for the 1.965 calendar year. NI-Gas Chairman and President Marvin Chandler said that, despite an 8 percent increase in therm sales, earnings were down slightly from the year-end figure primarily because they reflect all of the $7,200,000 rate reduction of April 1, 1965. To help parents answer this question with assurance, Elmo Donoho, project chairman, urges registration on Saturday, May 14, of children aged three and one half to five years for a free pre-school vision screening program. All children discovered to have a visual problem will be referred to their own opthalmologist or optometrist for further diagnos- j tic testing and possible treatment. Mr. Donoho stressed the fact that children do not know how they are meant to see and so they do not complain about a visual problem. With no warning from the child, parents must rely on a vision screening program or a regular eye examination to detect the presence of a possible eye disorder. Individual vision testing appointments will be made during registration on May 14 for May 20-21 testing. Registration at all four sc hools will open at 10 a.m. and close at 1 p.m. McHenry, Ringvvood, Wonder Lake areas registration will be at Hilltop school, 2575 Lincoln road, east of McHenry. Crystal Lake and Island Lake areas should register at Central school in Crystal Lake.
