It stated in part, "There is almost no land now set aside in its natural state by this county for the preservation of forests and other habitat where wildlife can live and prosper. It would be of threat benefit to all the people of McHenry county now and in the future to preserve Scout Thomas Gausden, front center, is shown selling a ticket for benefit movie to Jafncs Larkin. HONOR VETERANS OF VIET MAM ON JUNE U FLAG DAY All Chicago area Viet Nam Veterans will be honored by WIND radio during the station's fourth annual Flag Day celebration to be held June 14. WIND has invited mayors of Chicago communities to present a small, flag award to servicemen in their areas during the evening celebration of one of the country's most festive but often ' forgotten holidays. Sandwiched between Memorial Day and the Fourth of July, National Flag Day is often slighted in public attention and national importance. WIND has endeavored to give recognition to this anniversary of the , adoption of our flag by Congress in 1777. Last year, mayors of most Chicago communities received a flag which had flown over the U.S. Capital building. This year, these mayors have been asked to present an attractive desk flag with a suitably engraved plaque at the base to returned Viet Nam servicemen. Veterans who would like to join WIND'S celebration should mail their name, addres# and phone number to: Carol Wintner, WIND Radio, Chicago. liag Day festivities will begin at 8:30 p.m. on June 14 in front of the Adler Planetarium on Lake Michigan. A special band concert and a dazzling fireworks display will add to the evening-long activities, all of which are free to the public. MYF NEWS This Sunday.
