PUBLIC PULSE (The Plaindealer invites the public to use this column as an expression of their views on subjects of general interest in our community. Our only request is that writers limit themselves to 300 words or less signature, full address and phone number. W«? ask, too, that one individual not write on the same subject more than once each month. We reserve the right to delete any material which we consider libelous or in objectionable taste.) "Dear Editor: "Many in this subdivision are still waiting to hear the results of the circulation of the petition for annexation. Inquiries made by many of the residents indicate those that signed for annexation did not exceed more than a one digit number. Tf incorrect we hope to hear from the official, informant on annexation. "We believe that a chance to scrutinize the petition should be offered those opposed to annexation in this subdivision. This is a privilege extended by the law of the state of Illinois (let us remember we -are in the U.S.A. not the U.S.S.R.). If there is less than 50 percent of the property owners' signatures on this petition from this subdivision there is no law that compels us to submit to something the majority of the people do not want. "Over 80 percent of the residents ;ire on record with the Mayor of McHenry opposing annexation. To disprove this statement we must see the pet; ition for annexiition with authentic signatures for annexation in regards to this subdivision. "Paul Kocan" LITTLE LEAC;iTE "Dear Editor, Things are shaping up for the Little Leaguers for the year so let's go and support them. The boys, the coaches and men helping have been out working very hard. Now let's do our part and show up at the games. "It is really very surprising how few people do show up at t h e g a m e s a n d r e a l l y t h e y don't know what they are missing. Wouldn't it be great to say some day when one of our Little Leaguers is up in the big times 'I watched that fellow when he was just a kid.' Believe me, that is the way all Ihe big time players started and wouldn't it be wonderful if we, as a community, could say we helped some boy make his dream come true. "The women- backing these Little Leaguers have their credit coming too. They have a nice stand out there and, believe me, this is no small tt 's Good Business TO PLAN YOUR OFFICE PROPERLY Filing cabinets? Grossman, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Grossman, 7515 Carlton drive, Spring Grove, was assigned' to the U.S. Army Support Command1 in Vietnam May 5. Specialist Grossman, a sports director in the command's Headquarters detachment, entered the Army in December, 1964, and received basic trainjob. This takes many hours of planning to get the stock and the workers for the stand. I think e<ich and every one of the boys realizes that with the money they take in from this stand they get help for buying helmets, lights, loudspeakers etc. So let's give a helping hand whenever we can to these women. "Now we have given the mothers their due credit as to the support of the teams. How about these fathers? Being at most of the games last year and years before it really seems that the mothers outnumber the fathers. Don't you think baseball is rather a father and son game,? So come on -fathers, and get behind these boys of ours and help them grow up to be clean-minded fellows just and fair. "Alyce Fortin" ing at Fort Knox, Ky.
