Birthday P.J. Party Cindy Bruce, with the help of her sister, Bonnie, invited her classmates (girls) over to spend the night Friday. It was quite a while before all finally fell asleep, but all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. After breakfast on Saturday, all returned to their homes, some still tired. Kenneth Becks New Ptffttnte Judy and Kenneth Beck became the proud parents of the first child, a boy, born on Saturday morning. The Becks live on Route 31. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Bruce. Congratulations to all. Old Fashioned Picnic June 5 Just a brief reminder to keep June 5, Sunday, open. The community club decided to hold an old fashioned family style picnic. This will be open to all persons. More details will appear next week. Hpp>- py anniversary to Peg and John Scharf on May 29, and to Mr. and Mrs. Lou Hawley on June 4. Attended Caniporee Several of our local ^.Boy Scouts attended the Camporee over the past weekend. Luke Ackerman, Ray Low, David and Eddie Betts and Jim Rhoades attended from our area. Orchids to Earl Betts who was responsible for transporting the camping equipment. All thoroughly enjoyed their weekend camping trip. Card C'luh .The Card Club met on Tuesday afternnon in the home of Mrs. Clara Cristy. Mrs. Gerry Kunz took high for the day w;ith Mrs. Bud Whiting taking low scor„e. "500" Club at Lows Doris and Walt Low entertained the "500" Club in their home last Saturday evening. High scorers for the evening were Helen Winn and Dan Rossen. Low for the evening wnet to Alice Mae Wilcox and Lou Winn. Eight couples belong to the "500" Club with five attending. Ringwood Church News Church services are conducted by Rev. Ronald Anderson every Sunday at 10 a.m. with school held at 11 a.m. each Sunday. The Junior High will meet on Saturday, May 28 at the church for classes in finger painting. Pat Strom will be in charge. The Senior High M.Y.F. will get together on Sunday, May 29, at 5 p.m. at Mt. Hope church for a hay ride. On- Thursdays , the Junior High meets at 4 p.m. at the church. Around" Town Mrs. Blanche Carr and Floyd Peatt of Greenwood spent Sunday in the J. C. Pearson home. The eightieth birthday of Mr. Peatt was observed. Mrs. Mercedes Hoffman, Mrs. Flora Carr, Miss Mae Wiedrich, Mrs. Anna Shadle, Mrs. Emma Ortlieb and Mrs. Gerry Kunz attended the lupcheon- style sho\V at the Zion Lutheran church in McHenry on Wednesday. Laura and Glenn Fiala of California visited the home of Misses , Marion and Alice Peet over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Everett and family spent the weekend with friends at St. Louis. Mrs. Roy Wiedrich of Burlington called on Mrs. Fred Wiedrich Sr., on Tuesday. On Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Harrison of Petite Lake, Antioch, were supper guests in the J. C. Pearson home. NEW CAMPING RATES The Illinois Department of Conservation has announced new rates for camping in areas over which the department has jurisdiction. New rates go into effect immediate*- ly. The fee will be one dollar per day per site at primitive campsites. At modern sites, where showers are provided, the fee will be $1.50 per day per site. Parks with modern campsites are Pere Marquette, Illinois Beach, New Salem and Black Hawk. There will be no increse in charges at group camps Where kitchen facilities are provided. At these areas a fee of 50 cents , per person per day will renT&iW in effect. The fee for electricity will not ,be charged.
