Johnson feels it will do these youth good to see and work in what is still quite a depressed area and people, and it will also permit these youth to "put to practice" what their faith teaches concerning love to their fellowman. It is interesting to note that these youth must not only pay their entire transportation cost, but an additional $20 for the cost of food. And yet they go knowing they will work hard during their stay on the reservation. The youth will have the imteresting experience of sleeping in two large teepees erected in the Mission yard. The Lutheran church in America sponsors ten such work camps throughout the United States each summer for the high school youth of the church. During, his stay at the work camp Mrs. Johnson and her three children will stay at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Odeen Peterson in Calgary, Canada. The Johnsons met Rev. and Mrs. Peterson while attending seminary at Rock Island, 111. The work camp begins June 19. Receives New Members The 'following persons have been received recently into the fellowship of Nativity Lutheran church, Wonder Lake: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Crowell, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford T. Hanson, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Howorka, Mrs. Eva Johnson, Mrs. Lawrence Kreutz, Charles Thacker, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Robe, JVIr. and Mrs. Clifford Mason, Mrs. Clarence Ullman, Mrs . Donald Bailey, Mr. and Mrs. Ffrank Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. James LaGreca, Scott LaGreca and Mrs. Allan Vogt. These members were received at the 11 'clock service of worship. A coffee hour was held following the service so that they might meet other members of the congregation. Jf^er&ona(& Mrs. Harriett Johnston, R.N., accompanied Mrs. Jane Dalton to Syracuse, N.Y., Saturday. Mrs. Dalton had been visiting in Woodstock where she became ill and was a patient at Memorial hospital for six weeks. Unable to see Mrs. Dalton was attended by Mrs. Johnston when she was transferred to the Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse University, Syracuse. They made the trip by plane and Mrs. Johnston returned to McHenry Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe W. Wagner and Mrs. Eleanor Youhg drove to Dubuque, Iowa, Thursday and brought the Wagners' son, Ronald, home from Loras college. He will spends the summer with his parents. MRTMF5 Linda H&ney of 605 W. Columbus avenue, McHenry, appearing before Judge Kaufman in Branch 3 court last Thursday, w^s found guilty of negligent driving and was fined $20 and $5 costs. Walter P a r r i s h of 3914 Waukegan road, McHenry, charged with having defective mufflers, paid $10 and $5 costs. Raleigh W.- Pulver of 1609 N. Meadow lane, McHenry, was assessed $15 and $5 costs for speeding. Appearing on a charge of purchase or. acceptance of liquor as a person of non-age, Patrick Doty of Elgin paid $25 and $20 in costs. Robert J. Widdicombe of Rt. 1, Grayslake, was fined $10 and $5 costs for . not having mufflers. RECEIVES DEGREE Carolyn Franes Bruce of 3412 W. Waukegan road, McHenry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bruce, graduated on June 6 at the seventeenth annual commencement held at the Pestalozzi Froebql Teachers college, held at the Eleventh street theatre. She received the Bachelor of Education degree. BBUCE BOHUSLAV WINS MBA DEGREE IN ATLANTA. GA. Seven hundred and forty-nine persons are candidates for degrees at Emory University graduation exercises Monday, June 13. Dr. J. George Harrar, president of the Rockefeller Foundation, will speak at the exercises on the Emory quadrangle at 8:30 a.m. Dr. Albert C. Outler, professor of theology at Southern Methodist University, will deliver the baccalaureate sermon Sunday, June 12, at 6 p.m. in Glenn Memorial church. Among the graduates is Bruce H. Bohuslav who receives his M.B.A. degree. AUDUBON GROUP MEETS JUNE 18, CARROLL HOME The McHenry county chapter pt the Illinois Audubon' society met recently at Mrs. Kenneth Fiske's home, with thirty-three members and guests present. Two groups set out from there, one north along Cold Spring road, the other south through fields and along base of bluffs. A total of sixty-seven species were identified. At the business meeting President Darlene Fiske reported on the State Audubon meeting she attended in Peoria. The McHenry county group were pleased to learn that they lead all groups in the number of commemorative stamps sent to the Florida Audubon society to help with their study on ways to preserve the bald eagle. A total of 14,000 stamps have been sent. Mrs. James Hecht gave a re* port on, bills before the Congress on Indiana Dunes Park and the proposed G}en and Marble _ Canyon dams on the Colorado river. She asked members to write their Congressmen about these. She also noted the referendum for Forest Preserve district on June 14. The next meeting will be Saturday, June 18, at Mrs. Wm.
