At this meeting the village board after a discussion rulfcd there will be no general tlean-up this year, due to the high cost to the village. It will be the responsibility of each resident to clean-up his own property and make private arrangements for the disposal of the trash. After a tour of the village it was decided that it would be better to use the money where everyone would benefit, there are so few that" need cleaning up. Those who wish to, can contact the disposal service and "make arrangements with therti and pay them direct The board has" put aside funds to start cutting weeds along the roadways, also work will be started on both beaches. New appointments for the following year are as follows, Larry Booster, treasurer, Ronald Herrmann, attorney for the village, chief of police, George Johnson, patrolmen, George Watkins and Walter Conrad, special police, Ben DeCicco, Sr., and Frank Bitterman. Building inspector Norman Morrison and sanitary inspector Ivan Gustafson, chairman of road committee, Frank Coughlin, and custodian of the building, Willard Mix. To the residents of Lakemoor. Your village meetings are the second Thursday of each month at 8 p.m. They are held in the fire-community building. Please try to attend these meetings and See what is going on in your village. Association Dues The second half of the dues for the year round members is due as of July 1. If you have not paid it as yet you can send it to the treasurer, Pearle Stineman, at 308 N Glenwood. Dues for the summer residents was due as of June 1. Officers and Board of directors meeting for the Lilymoor association was held at the home of Jo Bartelt Tuesday, June 7. The next monthly meeting for the officers and board of directors will be held at the home of Lawrence Schuerr Tuesday, July 5 at 8 p.m. Rummage Sale Held by the Woman's auxiliary was a huge success Those who worked hard to make the sale a success were Lill Neumann chairman. Her co-workers were Jo Bartelt, Pearle Stineman, Connie Johnson, Eunice Tobey, Marge Polinski, Helen Rodde, Val Fradinardo, Marylyn Lo Presti, Ruth Young, Toni Ehredt, Sharon Neumann, Diane Fuhler and Marion Leske. Like other affairs the women have worked hard to make this a success. 9, to Saturday, July 16. Tick' ets are available from any of the members of the club. It will be held in the fire-community building in Lakemoor. There will be free barbecues, coffee and cake served Proceeds of the party will go toward the purchase of combination storm and screens for the fire-community building. Please remember the date has been changed to Saturday, July 16. Auxiliary News The auxiliary held its monthly meeting Monday, June 6. Report of the rummage sale was given. Also Eunice Tobey gave her report on the Salvation Army tag day. The forthcoming fashion show in connection with the women of Lakeland Park will be held Sept. 28. The annual outing was touched on at this meeting. Winner of the monthly prize was Ida Legge. Hostesses for the June meeting were Lee Bassi, Toni Ehredt and Diane Fuhler. Due to the fourth of July holiday the July meeting will be held the second Monday, July 11, in the dining- room of Club Lilymoor at 8 p.m Hostesses for the July meeting are Connie Johnson, Estelle Katchke and Ida Legge. O'Leary, Alice Becker, Helen Para, Toni Ehiredt and Pat Morrison. At his time the past president-secretary turned the books over to the new p r e s i d e n t - s e c r e t a r y w h o i s Helen Para. Card and Banco Party The date of the card and bunco party sponsored by the Ladies League has been changed from Saturday, July S •EUNICE WILSON B. HARPER HEADS COMMITTEE FOR BEACH CLEAN-UP On June 18 R. Harper is in charge of the clean-up duties and his co-workers are R. Gruner, J Selvaggio, H. Tiggemann, R. Verstege, C. Wagner and E. Wick. Birthdays Many happy returns of the day to Otto Bruner on June 16, Patrice 'Patty' Brunke who will be 11 on June 17, Alice Dilg and on June 19 and, Aubrey Vann on June 20. Best wishes for a happy birthday to all. Anniversaries Connie and Charlie Lindwall will be starting on another year of togetherness on June 17. Ann and Don La Jone will celebrate their anniversary on June 20, and Robert and Shirley Harper will have their big day on June 22. Congratulations to our three happy couples. Picnic The McHenry Shores Club will hold its picnic on July 23, date June 24. This will be for members of the club and all the women will be contacted in the near future a- ,bout their contribution for the pot-luck supper. Refreshments, for young and old will be available. Games with prizes galore will be in store for all age groups. 'Easy with that egg, Hon, it might be rotten' The club will pop for a Ijarrel of beer. Keep the date in mind as we are hoping for a real old fashioned get-together for all. There will be dancing and entertainment in the evening. anxiously awaiting the arrival of their son, Jerry, who is just about due to come home for his leave. Jerry is driving from Widby Island, Washington, and bringing a friend with him He has been in Viet Nam for 23 months and you can bet your boots will be just as happy to get back to McHenry as his folks will be to see him again. Farewell to the Burgstallers who have rented their house and are moving to Florida this weekend. They have purchased a 5 unit motel so no doubt will be kept busy. The best of luck in your new venture and keep in touch with us. Julie Zeimet held a birthday party for her mother to celebrate her seventy-fifth year and there were four generations present to sing happy birthday to grandma. Joyce and Howie Lexow enjoyed three days in the Dells over last weekend. Beth and Lee got a real kick out of camping out and sleeping in the car as it was their first experience in going on a trip. Grandma had to "dog sit" with three pups and their mother and I discovered it was much more work than baby sitting. Fan Club The ladies of the fun club celebrated their sixteenth year together Wednesday, June 8, by treating themselves to dinner and a play. The ladies toasted two of the members for their birthdays, they are Emma Kunz < and Doris Kibbe. Those attended the dinner and play were Lu Bitterman, Gen Double Bundle Of Joy Mrs. Messamore presented her husband, Curtis, with twin boys Monday, June 6. Ronald and Donald weighed in at four and a half pounds each. Waiting home to greet their new little brother are, Kevin and Kenneth. The Messomores have been residents of Lakemoor since February. Graduations Three young ladies and two gentlemen have graduated from- McHenry junior high. They are Joanne Besserud, Debra Fuhler, Pauline Starzyk, Robert Counley and Vincent Schiavone. Those putting on their cap and gowns from McHenry high school are Lenny Blades, Roberta Counley, Linda DeCicco, Cindy Fradinardq, Patty Gray, Charlene Kawell and Mike Zabroski. - To you who graduated from junior high congratulations and the best of luck in high school. GRADE SCHOOL HOLDS EXERCISES FOR GRADUATE^ EScercises at the closing of the school year were held at Spring Grove elementary school on Friday evening, June 3. Invocation was given by Rev. Lotiis Hillendahl and guest speaker was Russell Gardiner. A program was presented by the pupils under the direction of music instructor, Mrs. Bessie Barnes. Betsey Mac Diarmid gave a recitation "This is Life". Graduates Gregg Barth, Daniel Carlson, Edward Gerretsen, Stanley Gerretsen and Betsey MacDiarmid received their diplomas from Mr. Ryser, the principal. American Legion awards, "Medals" and "Certificates of Achievement" were presented to Gregg Barth and Betsy MacDiarmid and an award for perfect attendance was given Edward Gerretsen. Welcome New Residents The welcome mat is out to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Durocher and children, Jim and Linda. The Durochers have taken over the former Bill and Lil Gibson's home.
