' Miss Houtchens is a graduate of Etta Hart Academy of Advanced Hair Styling and is now on the staff of a Louisville beauty salon. McM AHON-ERN ST VOWS REPEATED AT ZION LUTHERAN In a ceremony performed by Rev. Carl Lobitz in Zion Lutheran church at 7 o'clock Saturday evening, June 11, Miss "Ruth Ann McMahon became the bride of Mr. Harlan Ernst of Wonder Lake. Miss McMahon is the<daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orlo McMahon, 5214 W. Hunter drive, McHenry, and Mr. Ernst is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ernst of Barnsville, Minn. The bride was given in marriage by her cousin, Marvin Russell, of Findlay, Ohio. The vows were repeated before an altar decorated with jvhite bridal flowers. Soloist was Tom Peters who sang •"The Lord's Prayer" and "Oh Promise Me". The lovely bride wpre a white chiffon over silk dress with round lace neck line trimmed with little seed pearls and long lace sleeves. The train fell from the shoulders and was trimmed with lace and seed pearls. Her veil was shoulder length with a pearl crown. Attending the bride were Linda Kraeplin of Island Lake as matron of honor, Katherine Ernst of Barnsville, Minn., bridesmaid, Christine Russell of Findlay, Ohio, junior bridesmaid and Cindy Kraeplin of Island Lake, flower girl. Raymond Kraeplin was ring bearer. Hie girls wore dresses in pastel shades of light blue, lilac, mint green and yellow chiff on. Their headpieces were crowns of fresh carnations in matching colors. The flower girl carried a basket of roses. The groom was attended by Robert Ernst of Barnsville, BTinn., as best man and Ralph I'rieplin of Island Lake acted as usher. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. McMahon wore a two piece beige dress with pink accessaries. Her corsage was pink roses. The groom's mother was attired in blue with white accessories and wore white carnations. A reception for 150 guests followed the ceremony in the church parlors. Freund. Miss Simonsen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl J. Simonsen of 4305 W. Sioux lane, McHenry, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Freund of .'5708 W. Grand avenue, McHenry. Rev. Fr. Eugene Baumhofer officiated at the ceremony in a church which had its altars decorated with bouquets /of white glads and yellow roses. Pretty, dark-haired Miss,, Simonsen chose a wedding gown of dulcette satin, with lace inserts in the long sleeves, bodice and also on the bell-shaped skirt. Lace on the demure neckline formed a scalloped effect. Her train, with bows on the top, also had lace inserts and hung from the shoulders. A bouffant veil in four layers of imported net surrounded an imitation orchid, the petals sprinkled with crystals and rhinestones. Her only accessories were white pearl earrings. Miss Simonsen carried a bouquet of white gladioli, orchids and stephanotis. Attending her were Miss Carol Miller as maid of honor, Miss Chris Liptrot, Miss Diane Rothering and Miss Kathy Freund, sister of the groom, McHenry. They were attired similarly in dresses of empire style, the bodices, sleeves and back panels of lace and the skirts of yellow chiffon, with slits in back. The necklines were rounded .They wore white accessories and carried corsages of white glads and yellow roses. Jesse Freund served his twin brother as best man and groomsmen were Jack Adams, Dennis Huff and Dave Freund of McHenry. Ted Olsen and Don Kibbe, also of McHenry, were ushers, and Stevie Huff was the stately ring bearer. Mrs. Simonsen selected a beige silk shantung . dress, matching accessories and a white orchid corsage. Mrs. Freund was attired in a blue dress, white accessories and a white orchid corsage. A reception was held at 6 o'clock for 350 guests. Following a wedding trip, the couple will make their home at 3710 W. Millstream drive, McHenry. The bride is a secretary for the Mental Health center and the groom is employed at Mc- Gee's Store for Men. Both are McHenry high school graduates. A Mass in their honor will be read at St. Mary's CathoHc church at 1 p.m., followed at 5 o'clock in the evening by open house at the Johnsburg Community club. St. Patrick's Catholic church was the setting for a beautiful afternoon wedding last Saturday, June H, when Miss Sharon Stoller became the bride of Mr. Patrick S. Wyatt. Miss Stoller is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stoller of 3619 James street, McHenry, and Mr. Wyatt is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Wyatt, Jr., of Wonder Lake. Rev. Fr. David Beauvais officiated at the 3 o'clock nuptial rite, for which Earl "Marty" Conway and Celia Vecchi were soloists, accompanied by Mrs. Carl Weber. The church was decorated with bouquets of aqua and white carnations. Pretty, blonde Miss Stonier wore an ^A-line empire gown of white chantilly lace over taffeta, fashioned with a scoop neckline and long, illusion sleeves ending in a point. A regal train made of the same lace was attached at the shoulders with two small organza bows. Her three-tiered veil of French silk illusion cascaded from a headpiece of tiny white organza rosebuds encircled by lace and pearls. Miss Stoller carried a bouquet of white roses centered with a white orchid. Attending her ' were Mrs. Kathie Klots as matron of honor and Gale Thelen and Lee Perry as bridesmaids. They wore floor length gowns of aqua linen, fashioned with empire bodices, scoop necklines, white organza bell - shaped sleeves dotted with self fabric daisies and A-line skirts. Each had a large aqua picture hat highlighting her ensemble and they carried bouquets of aqua and white daisies. Ronald Doherty of Wonder Lake served as best man and groomsmen were Arnie Thelen of DesPlaines, formerly of Johnsburg, and Robert Ruemelin of McHenry, nephews of the bride. Mrs. Stoller selected a pink lace dre$s and matching accessories, while Mrs. Wyatt wore a blue lace dress and blue accessories. A six o'clock dinner at the V.F.W. clubhouse was attended by 200 friends and relatives, after which the couple left on a honeymoon trip to French Lick, Ind. They wiU make their home in Rolling Meadows. The bride graduated in 1965 from McHenry high school and her husband received his diploma from Marian high school a year previous. Olsons of McHenry, is a 1962 gradjate of McHenry high school and was employed by Jim Dane a Oldsmobile in Crystal Lake prior to his enlistment in the U.S. Air Force. At present he is stationed at Blytheville AFB, Ark., where the young couple now make their home. The brothers of both bride and groom served as ushers; Jerry Johnson of Topeka, Charles Olson of Clinton, Wis. and Ronald Olson of Crystal Lake. A reception in the church parlors followed the ceremony, with about 200 guests present. Valek, Sr. Father Matthew Rudden performed the ceremony before art altar decorated with white gladioli and yellow roses. The lovely dark haired bride wore an Empire A-line gown of uhite peau d? sole, fashioned with gently scooped neckline and bell shaped sleeves of reembroidered alencon lace. A full chapel train swept from a self fabric bow at the waist. A three tiered ballerina veil of French silk illusion fell from a crown of lace hearts outlined in seed pearls and crystals She carried a bouquet of white roses and stephanotis. The bride's three sisters attended her. Nancy was the maid of honor, Gayle, her bridesmaid, and Susan was the flower girl. The older girls wore identical floor length gowns of yellow linen fashioned with A-line skirt, empire bodice and scooped neckline with organza bell sieeves dotted with self fabric daisies. Circular head pieces of matching daisies completed their costumes. Their flowers were yellow daisies and white carnations. The flower girl was dressed in a floor length gown, fashioned with a yellow linen bodice, short sleeves and a full circular skirt of white organza over taffeta. She carried a basket filled with yellow daisies and white carnations. Her head band was made of fresh yellow daisies and carnations. Robert Beckenbaugh acted as best man and John Valek was groomsman for his brother. Another brother, Joseph Valek, was the ring bearer. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Rothermel wore an ensemble of mint green silk, consisting of sleeveless sheath with scooped neckline and matching coat with large cowl collar fastened with self fabric bow at neckline and matching whimsy hat. Her accessories were bone and her flowers were yellow cymbidium orchids. Following the ceremony a reception for sixty guests was held at the McHenry Country club. The young couple will honeymoon for 2 weeks, driving to Miami from where they will fly to Jamaica. They will be at home later at 1210 S. Hilltop Boulevard, McH e n r y Shores. The bride graduated from MCHS in '65 and is a clerk at the National food store. Her husband is in customer relations with Brach Candy company. He Install Jo Ann Weichmann New Honored Bethel Queen In a beautiful ceremony at A CACIA Masonic temple held last Saturday evening, Jo Ann Weichmann became the lovely new honored queen of Bethel 98 of Job's Daughters. She used as her theme, "Brotherhood". Sheila Wevik-Lindwall Betrothal Told JUDITH WEVIK The engagement of Judith Lynn Wevik to C. William Lindwall, both of McHenry Shores, has been announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wevik. No date has been set for the wedding. Judy is a graduate of Foreman high school in Chicago and at the present time is a senior nursing student at Passavant Memorial hospital in Chicago. She recently worked as a nurse's aid at McHenry hospital during her vacation fro mschool. Bill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lindwall, is an alumnus of McHenry high school and the Culinary Institute of America in New Haven, Conn. His service in the Army took him to such distant places as Okinawa, Formosa and Viet Nam. Upon his discharge in 1965, he returned to civilian life to pursue his career as a chef. is a McHenry high school graduate of '62 and attended Michigan Tech. YFW Auxiliary Plans Luncheon The V.F.W. auxiliary to Post 4600 of McHenry is planning a c a r d p a r t y a n d a n n u a l luncheon to be held June 22 at 12:30 p.m. at the V.F.W. clubhouse. The public is invited, and tickets may be purchased at the door. Proceeds will benefit the nursing scholarship, school lunch program and welfare fund for money donated to fund drives and the Marine Festival queen contest sponsorship. Co-chairmen of the event are Vi Abbink and Gerry Breede. MARIAN DINNER DANCE The Marian Fathers club annual dinner dance will be held at the McHenry Country Club on Saturday, June 25, starting at 6:30 p.m. Don Sullivan of Wonder Lqke is chairman of the event.
