The Tamasy family spent a few weeks here visiting her father, Joe Smith, and mapyof their other relatives and friends. Honored At Birthday Celebration 's 7 Carol Ann Stilling who has been spending the past week #ith relatives here and in Mcftenry, was honored at a birthdhy party last Thursday evenite- It was . held in the home of •hfer brother and wife, Gerry aid Nancy Stilling of Crystal Lake. Bringing Carol gifts on this night were Dave Oeffling, Kftn, Diane and Ted Stilling. The evening started out with supper and the meal was clifnaxed with a beautiful birthday cake, baked and decorated by Nancy. An exciting part of the evening for Carol came with a long distance call from her aunt and uncle, the Jack Keehans, of Pompano Beach, PI a.', to wish her many happy returns of the day. She returnbd to St. Coletta's school in Jefferson, Wis., Sunday afternoon. I imagine she had quite » few things to relate to the Sisters and the other girls up there upon her return. Sadness Touches Many Within this past week many of our residents were touched by the sadness that accompanies death. Our sympathies are with these families in their time of sorrow. Clarence (Speed I Stilling formerly of Spring Grove passed away on July 3. at the age of 52, following quite a lengthy illness. We send our condolences to his children, Gerry of Crystal Lake, Ken of McHenry, Ted and Diane of our area, and Carol Ann of Jefferson, Wis. His widow, two brothers and a sister also survive. A long time resident, Steve May, was laid to rest in St. John's cemetery on July 6. He passed away at his home on July 3. Mr. May would have been 76 on July 23. Left to mourn him are his wife, Dena, two daughters, Mrs. Violet Di- Pirro of Woodstock and Mrs. Joan Buss of McHcnry, seven grandchildren and a sister. Mrs. Agnes Weber succumbed at the Woodstock hospital just a short time after admittance on July 5. She was 51 years of age at the time of death. She resided at 3711 Fair- JEPSEN view Avenue for several years. Among her survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Majercik, three sons, Pete and Harry at home, and Ken who is serving with the air force in Viet Nam. Funeral Mass was conducted in St. John's church on Saturday but burial was postponed until Monday in hopes that Kenny would be home. Mrs. Weber was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, in 1965. Two sisters and three brothers also survive. To all these families we hope their hour of sorrow is made just a little easier by knowing their friends are standing by to help them through this difficult time. Hospital Patients Get-well wishes to Matt Schulien who spent several days recently in the McHenry hospital. He is recuperating at his summer home here in Chapel Hill subdivision: Mrs. Laura Schmitt entered Sherman hospital in Elgin Sunday evening and underwent surgery Monday morning. Be sure to drop her a card so the long confinement hours will seem a little shorter. Honie For Awhile Mike and Eva Schaefer are real happy to have their son SP4, Kenny Schaefer home for a 30 day furlough. Kenny has spent the past 8 or 9 months in Germany. He came in by plane on Thursday, just a short time before the air strike began. Pretty good timing, I would say. One of his first social engagements of his furlough was to attend the wedding and reception of Lindblom-Schlosser last Saturday. The couple was married in Richmond and the reception was heldi at the V.F.W. in McHenry. Mike, Eva and Larry also were in attendance. The A'oung newlyweds were feted at a reception held in the Johnsburg Community Club hall later that day. On July 4 they left by plane for San Diego where he is stationed with the navy.- Ted is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Freund of Johnsburg Road, and Sandi is the daughter of the Huppy Smiths of McHenry. Our very best wishes go' to this young couple and hope the future days ahead remain bright. Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Hettermann and sons, Mark and Kurt, of Arlington, Va., spent the recent holiday weekend with relatives here and participated in the festivities of the Frejund- Smith wedding.
