We built a fire and made Somemores after we got there. We used sleeping bags and slept in tents. This was our first experience with charcoal fires and was quite a bit different from our usual wood fires. While we were there we hiked and picked blackberries. All of the girls had a chance to cook and we had pretty good meals. Some of the things we made were pancakes, sloppy joes, grilled chicken. Several of the girls completed the Troop Camper badge. We went to Church on Sunday. Mrs. George, Mrs. Dowell and Mrs. Quast were our chaperones. Two Cadettes who accompanied us were Gail Kammerer, and Valerie Johnson. Mrs. Beirman came early on Sunday morning to take the girls to church and to help break up camp. Mr. and Mrs. Brooks, and Mr. and Mrs. Slonina were extra drivers. We , had a wonderful time and will return in October for another weekend of camping. Respectfully submitted, Cathy Humann, Scribe. Stopped at their daughter's home in Timber Lake to say "hi" while on the way home and there they were as big as life after two years. The surprise was on them as they were about to phone and announce themselves for a visit the next day. We had a nice visit the next day as we had already dispensed with all the "My how you've grown!" bit. They are spending the summer with Mom in Chicago as a relief from the Florida heat?
