September Nuptials Foi Kathy Murray Kathy Murray will rank ; among the prettiest of brides when, she comes down the aisle of Faith Presbyterian church, esQotted by her father, this Saturday Sept. 3 at 5 p.m. to meet Mr. Anton Cajthaml at the altar. The Rev. John Mac- Intyre will officiate at the doujbje ring ceremony. Kathy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Murray and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Albert A. Cajthaml of 1511 Sunnyside Beach Drive. Marilyn Scarbrough will serve as maid of honor for her gal pal and the bride's sister, Susan, and her brother, Terry, will also be members of the bridal party. Albert Cajthaml will serve as best man for his brother. The wedding reception will be held at McHenry Country Club for invited guests and the couple plan to go to New Orleans for their honeymoon. They will be living at 4904 W. Orchard Drive, in the village. Kathy was feted at two showers on the last two Sundays. The first was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Murray for about twenty guests. Miss Chris Tiffany was hostess for another shower for the bride, in Lakeland Park. Village Board The president and trustees - will meet in regular session on J Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 8 p.m., in v the beachhousc, instead of Monday, because of Labor Day. The public is invited. A Very Special Natal Day Gift The finest of birthday presents was delivered to Kathy Klapperich when she turned fourteen last Sunday when her tiny new sister was placed in her arms. Patricia Helene was born Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 1:03 a.m. at Sherman hospital, Elgin, and weighed a dainty 6 lbs., 15 07.. Her mom and dad are Eileen and Peter John. With the birth of this child, the family comes out even on the grapefruit and the sexes. Overjoyed with their new "toy" besides Kathy are Diane, 12, Jimmy, 11, Mich&fel, 9, and Timmy, who will be 4 this month. Paternal grandfather and his wife Bill and Nada Klapperich, also reside in the village. We are thrilled to add our best Wishes on the happy occasion. to one of our nicest families. Small Fry Will Attend Donkey Ball Game Should be an exciting event tomorrow night, when members of the girls' Softball teams and all little leaguers will be treated to the donkey ball game at the V.F.W. tomorrow (Friday) night. Misfits haye only managed one victory in six encounters with the Forum Fits, and went down in defeat 23-15 in Sunday's game. Members of the losing team included George Scarbrough, Don Lorch, Ken Betts, Allan McKim Bill Gleeson, Elmer Kanak, Don Hayes, John Rourke, Jeff Levesque, John Boyle, Sr., and Bud Brendie. Gerry Jensen not only played, but umpired, as well! Len Jensen, John Boyle, Jr. Ed Caron, Jim Conway, Butch Stacknick, Ted Hocin, Jake Levesque, John Klapperich, Dick White, and Don Powers made up the winning team. Both teams will be trying for victory again on Sunday, Sept. 4, at the beach. Game time is 2 p.m. and the guys love a big audience. Report On Explosion Victim So many have inquired about the health of-^ Mrs. Lucille Stokes, Bill's mother of Metropolis, 111., who was critically injured in a gas explosion which totally demolished her home, that we feel compelled to print the latest news. She was hospitalized for three weeks and finished convalescing at home. The summer heat was especially bad for her wounds, and even now she can only spend a short time out of doors because of sensitivity. One of her hands has so much scar tissue, that she may not regain complete use of it. She and her husband are not rebuilding the house, but did buy a trailer home and installed a special ramp for their daughter Carol, a polio victim so she can operate her chair. Hospital Patients Released Bill Walter and Art Stuhlfeier, who were patients at McHenry hospital, were both released last week. Bill came home a week ago Tuesday and Arthur, on Saturday. Both men feel fine and fit, we are happy to report. Mary Tomasello has not been released from McHenry hospital at this writing. Registration Open For Bowling And Scoots Gerry Jensen is registering all girls and boys who wish to join the Scout groups. Call her at 385-3461 if interested. Elaine Gleeson has a few more openings for men and women who wish to join the bowling league. Since arrangements must be made for alleys, please register with her now by calling 385-0615. Students with last names beginning with A - M should register between 9 and noon; while the remaining students with the letters N - Z register from 1 to 4. Text rental must be paid at t i m e o f r e g i s t r a t i o n . F o r grades 1 through 6 the rental is $14 and for grades 7 and 8, the rental is $22. The kindergarten students will register at the time specified in the letters that were sent to their homes. Any child not receiving a letter should call the school. Sept. 6 will be the first full day of school for the students. Kiwanis Mrs. Harold Young and Mrs. George Rink were present as guests to give a report on the House and Garden Walk. This year's Walk had a bigger turnout than last year. Receipts from bake sale, white elephant and boat rides exceeded last year. Ward Ehredt was a guest speaker for the evening. Ward has taken over as neighborhood commissioner for the Boy Scouts. He will help coordinate the activities of the Explorers, Boy Scouts, and Cub Scouts. His great concern right now is to find a new Cub. Scout Master and he asked the help of the Kiwanis Club. Boy Scout Charter Nite will be held in October. President Bob Howe announced the meeting as Past Secretaries Nite and called Bill Cristy to the front to present him with his past secretary's pin for last year. A round table meeting will be held Labor Day. The DeKalb Club has announced their annual Farm-City Tour for Sept. 22. semble the Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus. The members are urged to bring scissor* and glue along with their pleated and painted books. NEWSPAPER MAN GUEST OF DHIA ANNUAL MEETING Local Improvements Mr. and Mrs. Ray Murphy have improved the view along McCullom Lake Road with the handsome addition to their home which is now completed. Allan McKim is rapidly finishing his added room to his home on the same street. Now, Marge and Ole Olsen and Leo Scarbrough, across from each other, are brightening up Spring Road with their building. All of which makes the village a nicer place in which to live! Girls' Ball Scores Last Wednesday's game ended in victory for the Blue Jays over the Cardinals by 9-4. Saturday's game was also lucky for the B.J.'s when they won 11-6. The little gals have had fun all summer with their softball games, and we hate to see the season end. Wonderful Way To Relax Barbara and Chuck Thacker feel Just great after spending almost two weeks in Hot Springs, Ark., where they had a marvelous time. The couple and progeny-Bruce Roger and Cheryl, stayed with Barbara's parents, Mr. and M rs. Jim Benesh, who have retired and are making that southern state their home. The two have a beautiful mobile home in a trailer park which boasts a swimming pool and recreation area. Barbara availed herself of the therapeutic baths and massages and says they are wonderful. The Thackers met people from many different geographical locations and enjoyed exchanging ideas. Young At Hearts Meet Sept. T The Young At. Best wishes to all. L. A. Bound Barbara Vogel and Pearl Mathews were guest of honor for a farewell party at the home of Barbara's parents, the Harold Vogels. Friends and relatives of both girls gathered to wish them a safe journey. Barbara is going to Los Angeles to further her studies in teaching. Condolences Heartfelt sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Alderson on the recent loss of their son, Vinton. The Aldersons have many friends in Wonder Lake who are sharing in their sorrow at this time. Bridal Shower Patricia Grabovy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clemens Grabovy 3113 Edge wood drive, Wonder Lake, was guest of honor at a bridal shower recently with her sister, Edith, and her aunt, Joan Bolger, of Chicago, acting as hostesses. Guest3 came from Wonder Lake and Chicago. Many were college friends of the bride-tobe. The bridal colors of light and dark green were used to decorate the home and also the buffet dinner table. Patricia will become the bride of Leonard Winkler of Barteso, IU., on Oct. 15. The D.H.I.A. annual meeting will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m., at Marian Central high school in Woodstock. ! Speaker for this meeting will be Richard G. Capen, Jr., director of public affairs, Copley Newspapers, LaJolla, Calif. Capen, a native of Hartford, Conn., received a bachelor's degree in liberal arts from Columbia university in 1956. Following graduation, he was commissioned in the Navy and he now holds the rank of lieutenant in the United States Naval Reserve. As a civilian ,he did public relations and promotion work in Washington for a national trade association and in 1960 joined Vice President Richard Nixon's staff in the presidential campaign. Thereafter, he moved to San Diego, where he served as San Diego county manager for a firm of civic affairs consultants. Capen joined Copley Newspapers in June 1961, and was named director of public affairs in June, 1962. He is a member of the United States Chamber of Commerce Government Operations and Expenditures committee; active in the national association of public affairs officers and represents Copley Newspapers in Sacramento and Washington, D.C. on legislative matters. The title of his recent speech series has been "Where Do We Go From Here?" More than 6,000 reprints have been distributed throughout the country, and the text read on the floor of the House of Representatives in January. Capen recently addressed the 1966 Forum on National Security in Washington, D.C., and will be a guest speaker during the 1966 American Legion National convention in August. The title of his remarks to the D.H.I.A. Annual Meeting will be on this same theme. Tickets for this meeting may be secured from officers and directors of the D.H.I.A. Lilymoor SHIRLEY SCHUERR HONOR JUDY HEIN AT BRIDAL SHOWER IN ELGIN HOME A bridal shower was held for Miss Judy Hein Sunday Aug. 21, at the home of the bride-Ufebe in Elgin. Guests were Gloria and Mary Lu Cassell and Florence Mix of Lakemoor. Several of Judy's relations also attended the shower. Hostess was Judy's sister-inlaw, Anne Hein. Judy will become the bride of Jim Cassell Friday, Sept. 2, at the Church of the Brethern in Elgin. Jim is the son of John and Gloria Cassell of Lakemoor. The bride-to-be received many lovely gifts. Fashion Show The Woman's auxiliary and the Lakeland Park Women's Club are sponsoring a fashion show. It will be held Wednesday, Sept. 28 starting at 11:45 a.m. A dessert luncheon will be served. HEARING CONTINUED A second continuance was granted last Thursday morning in Branch HI court, McHenry, in twelve gambling charge cases in connection with the recent raid on the V.F.W. clubhouse. Assistant State's Attorney Thomas Henley was unable to be present for the hearing on a dismissal motion for the twelve persons charged with keeping a gaming place. He had filed the motion on the basis-"that the charge is insufficient) and the premises were not Amder /control of the defendants. Liljekvist of Ingleside pleaded guilty to speeding and was fined $20 and $5 costs. Barbara J. Albright of 3019 W. Crescent, on a guilty plea to speeding, was fined $15 and $5 costs. Home On Leave Jim Cassell is now home on leave visiting his relatives and is also busy getting ready for his forth coming marriage to Miss Judy Hein. Jim has completed his course in radio school. After Jim's leave is over he will be stationed in Cuba. Welcome home, Jim. Graduates Skip Schuerr hns completed his basic * training in the Marine Corps and graduated Tuesday, Aug. 30. His family Two charges were made against Robert puane Johnson of Gurnee. For speeding, he was assessed $40 and $5 costs and for reckless driving the fine was $100 and $5 costs. Michael B. Narcum of 109 Burnett road McHenry, was fined $10 and $5 costs for not having registration plates. Joseph Luniss of 2515 Orchard Beach drive, McHenry, paid a $15 fine and $20 costs for leaving the scene of an accident. PLAN EVENTS The Fox Lake Women of -the Moose, Chapter 1493, will hold a card party Wednesday Sept. 14, at the Moose hall, 11 Nippersink, Fox Lake.
