Well, the Labor Day holiday has quite a bit to do with it. In place of the regular; Monday deadline, my news copy had to be in the office by noon on Friday. I'm hoping next week will be an exceptionally long column. .There must be lots of little things that you and your friends have "-been doing that would interest readers. So whyhot give me a call before the next Monday's deadline .and share your happenings with your neighbors. Sisters Reunite The George Oef fling, Jr. home on Dolores Drive was the scene of much reuniting within the past weeks. Sarah's sister and family, the Ray Busses, of California spent several days in her home. While they *"wPre here another sister, the C. D. Clutes of Battle Creek, Mich., came down for a short stay. The girls' dad, Lawrence Cook, thoroughly enjoyed the visits. with his daughters. As you know Mr. Cook m akos his home with George and Sarah. Meetings Coming Up All you members of the Johnsburg Community Club don't forget the meeting coming up next Monday, Sept. 12. All members are urged to attend. The Blessed Virgin Sodality will hold its regular monthly meeting in the community club hall on Tuesday evening, Sept. 13 at 8 p.m. Ladies of the sodality are requested to be present as there are many important topics to be discussed. All junior members of St. Agatha court No. 777 are asked to remember that their first fall meeting will begin at 7 p.m. on Sept. 19. TK£ directors would really like to see a large turnout for this first meeting of the season. Spends Time With Mother Pam HiUer and daughter. Stephanie, left last week to spend a few days with Pam's mother in Minnesota before the school semester starts. I'm sure their visit is always looked forward to as there isn't too much visiting done throughout the year when everyone settles down^ to their normal routine. Besides his sons his wife, the< former Doris <Jean Freund, also survives.'Our thoughts and prayers go out to this family I in their sorrow. Well parents by this t^me 1 you should "almost be back in the routine of having all the youngsters back in school. There are a few college kids home yet, but soon they too will he hitting the "good old book trail". Let's hope we all have a safe and sue cessful year ahead with our children. Wisconsin Visitors Ted and Diane Stilling made j a day long jaunt to Jefferson I where they picked up their sis j ter. Carol Ann, who attends , St. Coletla's school there, and | took her out for a day of sight- ; seeing at nearby points of in-! terest. Eddie and Mike Hettermann also ni'ade, the trip with them. The Pete Peterson family spent several days enjoying the various sights at the Wisconsin Dells last week. This will be the last fling before school starts. Family Mourns Loss We all join in extending our sincere sympathies to Mr. and Mrs. Joe L. Freund upon the recent loss of their son-in-law. Perry Walker. A social word to you school children. The roads were made for cars! Always look both ways when you cross over to the other side of the road, and always walk on the side of the road so that the cars can get thru. They are your Moms and Dads on their way to work so that you can have the things you want and need. Cub Scout Picnic The Cub Scouts held their annual picnic at the home of Scoutmaster Bill Krause on a recent Sunday afternoon. Both the children and adults enjoyed an afternoon of games with prizes, followed by supper and concluded with a marshmallow roast at a bonfire. On hand i were the Krauses, of course with Billy, Bobby, Brad and Bruce, the Kruegers. with Kris, Liz and Gerry, the McWilliams, with Jim, Bobby and Wayne. Nancy Ohlson with Paul and Danny, the Breedes with Roy, Bud Minter with Pam and Ronald and John Connell. Woman's Club Next "Wednesday, Sept. 14 is the next meeting of the Holiday Hills Woman's Club.
