There were four bridesmaids, three junior bridesmaids and two flower girls. Karen Rau was among the bridesmaids and her usher-was Jim Morris of McCullom Lake. John Senkerick was the best man. The other attendants were college friends and close relatives from Waterford. Connie's three year old brother, Kenny, was the ring bearer and he kept the observers from giving way to the tears that are shed at these happy occasions. He did not say a word but was very indignant and kept giving dirty looks for the rest of the ceremony after the priest had removed the rings from his pillow. The breakfast and afternoon reception was held at a country club outside Burlington. In the evening a dance was held at the Waterford hall. After their honeymoon they will reside in Whitewater where John is a sophomore at the college. He is majoring in Biology and has a part time job with the head of the Biology department. Connie will be working in the nearby area. Here is wishing you good luck and much happiness in the years ahead. The Sunnyside Estates Homeowners Association Board met at the home of Wally Berg. The main topic discussed was the absence of water on Monday and, varying periods during the month of July and also the drop in pressure at certain times. This is a very serious problem and many are working very diligently to correct this matter. Four persons are being considered for nomination for the Board of Directors. They will be elected at the next membership meeting. At a later date we will put in a reminder for the October meeting and list those persons up for election. So far the township has been unable to do anything regarding the interest rates on the roads. The next board meeting will be held Nov. 3, at t he home of Jerry Olsen. The bus shelter is at its new location on Dennis Avenue. Helping with the project were Clarence Regner, Wally Berg, Ken Segerstrom and Mel Simmons. Off-the-farm career opportunities that depend on agriculture and require a knowledge of agriculture, account for approximately 40 percent of the nation's private jobs off the farm, the association has been informed. . Two examples were provided, agri-business and ag mechanics. Agri-business provides numerous opportunities for midmanagement and sales positions in crop and livestock enterprises including feed, seed, fertilizer and pesticides. The ag-mechanics would provide continuing possibilities in the field of mechanics, servicemen, parts, sales, mid-management, etc., in present day mechanical agriculture./) Presently the nearest such ottering is some 300 miles distant. This is just one of the many offerings of a junior college. There would be an advantage of having a college in the area for the agriculture student in that he could obtan a higher education and still live at home to provide assistance on the farm.
