Louis -Schueler,' neighbor, saw flames cording from •he Epperson garage and the fire department was quickly called. The garage was a total loss and the firemen worked hard to keep the flames from spreading to the home, which was only about three feet from the garage. Only slight damage was done to the house due to the intense heat and flames from the garage. Lakemoor was again called out early Friday morning. A person passing by saw flames coming from an abandoned cottage andl called the fire department. No one was living in the home which was a total loss. Fireman's Dance The Lakemoor firemen are having a dance Saturday, Oct. 29. It will be held at the firecommunity building on route 120 in Lakemoor. You can purchase your tickets from any of the firemen or at the door the night of the dance. This is one way you can say thank you to the men of our community who are on the fire department. Regardless of what time of the day or night that fire alarm goes off the men are right there. Purchasing your tickets for the dance is your way of saying thank you to them. New Appointment Mrs. Thclm Arbidson has been appointed special policewoman, for Lakemoor . She is replacing Ben DeCicco, Sr., Sr., who has moved from Lakemoor. Fashion Show The Woman's Auxiliary of Lilymoor and the Lakeland Park Women's club is sponsoring a dessert luncheon and fashion show Wednesday, Sept. 28. It will be'held at the V.F.W. in McHenry starting at 11:45 a.m. The fashions will be shown by professional models. The Kiwanis club is a notfor- profit organization operated as a service club with a predominance of their work done for youth in the c ommunity. Because the only source of income is fund-raising projects, the club asks the public support particularly on Peanut Day Sept. 23. On this day, Kiwanis members and friends will sell peanuts at various locations throughout the community. In addition, the club is asking the help of the business and pfofessional people of the community to underwrite the cost of the peanuts in order that all of the money collected may be used for the worthwhile projects undertaken by the club. Tony Pintozzi and John Flint, Peanut Day co-chairmen, state that it is only through the generous support of people of the community that the projects of the Kiwanis club are financially possible.
