Prayer meeting will be held in the sanctuary at 11:45 a.m., followed by the United Nations lunceon, an annual event, at noon. The Circles provide representative foods of various countries. In addition, a Christmas bazaar and bake sale will be conducted by the Marcia , Mary Ball circle. Members of the Executive committee will act as hostesses for the luncheon. Mrs. Lloyd Peterson, 'Elgin district secretary of Cristian social relations, will give the program. Worship service will be led by Mrs. Elwyn Eternick. Christmas Articles Shown At Guild Ruth Young was hostess Thursday, Oct. 13, when the Pink Lady sewing guild met for its monthly meeting. B e a u t i f u l C h r i s t m a s o r n a ments and aprons made by members- were shown which may be purchased at a later date at the Pink Lady Gift shoppe at McHenry hospital. A birthday card was signed by all present and sent to Mrs. Mary Turner, who has made so many beautiful crochet articles for the Pink Lady shoppe. Six „ members and three guests were present. Members included Celia Blake, Margaret Bolin and hostess, Ruth Young, all of McHenry; Tillie Ahrens, Mildred Kennedy and Esther Knapp of Johns burg. Guests were Clara Swanson, Minnie Huson and Mrs. Young's sister, Martha Ferris of Pittsburg, who is visiting here. Welcome Wagon Plans For State Convention •The Capitol City of Springfield has been selected for the Illinois state convention of Welcome Wagon on Oct. 28 and 29, 1966 at the State House Inn. Gov. Otto Kerner has issued a proclamation proclaiming the period as Welcome Wagon Days throughout the state of Illinois. Hostesses planning to attend from this area are Kay Hathaway and Shirley Arveson, Crystal Lake, and Bertha Tammeus, Woodstock, supervisor, who will preside at the Saturday morning session. Ceil DeWerdt, McHenry hostess, will not be able to ..attend. According to Alice E. Scroggins, executive state supervisor, the convention will feature outstanding speakers a n d c i v i c l e a d e r s f r o m throughout the state. Awards, Election Highlight Annual Hospital Auxiliary Meef Joseph Glosson and sons, Harold and Donald, of Richmond, Ind.; Gene of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Jack of Buchanan, Mich., visited their son and brother, James Glosson, last weekend in the home of Mrs. Albert Vales. James, his wife, Dolores, and infant son, James David, have been staying at the Vales home since Mr. Glosson was released from the hospital. He was seriously injured in an automobile accident recently. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Glosson of McHenry also were visitors over the weekend. Mrs, Henry J. Sarin of London, England, at the annual luncheon of the women's auxiliary to McHenry hospital, which also featued awards and election of officers. Dr. Sarin related his experience in treating 120 patients of emotionally caused asthama by hypnosis. During the meeting last week at the McH e n r y Country club, Mrs. Lee Gladstone received a special engraved plaque honoring her loyalty and service to the auxiliary and the hospital. It was presented by auxiliary president Mrs. Claude F. McDermott. A check for $3,COO for McHenry hospital was presented to the administrator, Anthony Corcoran, by out-going auxiliary treasurer, Mrs. Fred F radinardo, who has served in that capacity the past ten yeirs. • "TRatoEs Pink" 1o emphasize the volunteer services of the auxiliary, a p i n k t h e m e d o m i n a t e d t h e luncheon along with the slogan "Think Pink, Pink Lady- Volunteer this year!" Pink daisies formed the center piece and filled, bud vases at each table. A pink-covered tenth anniversary report booklet was given each member. Heading the list of volunteers who received silver pins was Mrs. Marie Gorgo, who donated 1,541 hours to the hospital this year, making a total of 5,641 hours she donated since 1962. Mrs. Eva Anderson, with 710 hours, was also singled out for special mention by M r s . E l m e r S t a n g e , who made the awards. Others honored were Mrs. Ralph Munson, Mrs. George Worts, Mrs. Patrick Moriarty, Mrs. Scott Mars ton, Mrs. Phillip Armstrong, Mrs. Gertrude Jusien, Mrs. Earl Seepe, Mrs. Frank B. In McHenry POSTPONE CELEBRATION Mr. and Mrs. Peter Weingart this week announced that the celebration of their golden wedding anniversary, planned for last weekend, will be held at a later date. Mrs. Weingart suffered a broken hip in a fall the previous week and is confined to Sherman hospital, Elgin. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin J.
