Visitation will be held Thursday after 2 p.m. in the Ehorn Funeral home, Richmond, where services will take place at 1:30 p.m. Friday, with burial in Richmond cemetery. Chief Petty Officer Richard Schafer has just returned from Viet Nam and will be stationed for the future at Great Lakes as an instructor. Here, he made the acquaintance of his five-w e e k-old daughter, Pamela Aiu., who was christened Sunday, Oct. 23, by Father pardon of St. Joseph the Worker church, Wheeling. A gathering was held at the home of the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Ed Schwall, in Wheeling. Godparents were Pamela's aunt, Mrs. Larry Brumm of Arlington Heights and an uncle, Jerry Onley of Wheeling. The baby wore the dress of her great-grandmother, Mrs. Mae Weber. MAYBERRY Services were conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Peter M. Justen ft Son funeral home for Herbert E. Mayberry, 66, of 7103 Delaware road, Wonder Lake. Rev. Richard N. Wright of the Wonder Lake Bible church officiated, with burial in Woodland cemetery. Mr. Mayberry died Saturday, Oct. 22, in Memorial hospital, Woodstock. He was born Feb. 3, 1900, in Columbus, Ohio, and was a retired machinist. The deceased was a member of Greater 3 Moose lodge, Chicago. \ Survivors are his widow, Hester; two daughters, Mrs. James (Dorothy) \Hermle of Wonder Lake and Mrs. Luther (Helen) Sanderson of Tuscola; also four grandchildren, Melodie Skalla of Wonder Lake, Jerry Sanderson, Denise Sanderson and April Sanderson of Tuscola. DR. JOHN J. KEMTO Word has been received of the death of Dr. John J. Kerwin, 83, who died Oct.. 22 in Miami, Fla., where he had been residing. He was a former summer resident of this community. Dr. Kerwin had been a practicing physician for fifty years and was associated with Mercy hospital and Lutheran- Deaconess h o s p ital, both in Chicago. In addition to a sister, Nellie Kerwin, with whom he had been residing, he is survived by a ion, James, of Oak Park; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Kunze of Woodstock, Mrs. Mary Kissane of Wilmette and Mrs. Jane Agrella of Elm wood Park; thirteen grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Goodview avenue, McHenry, was graduated from the U.S. Naval Amphibious school after completing a fifteenday course in Amphibious W a r f a r e I n d o c t r i n a t i o n a n d Orientation. LAURA-CWEITNEY " A funeral Mass was sung Saturday morning in Transfiguration church, Wauconda, for Miss Laura Courtney, 92, formerly of Roberts road, Wauconda. She died Oct. 19 in the home 9f a niece, Mrs, Ray Parchman, in Chicago. Miss Courtney is survived by a sister, Mrs. Alice Keough, 104, of Half Day, and several nieces and nephews, including Earl Mc Andrews of McHenry. LORIS VON ELLER Mrs. Herbert (Loris) Von Eller, 61, of West Shore Beach, McHenry, died Thursday, Oct. 20, in Memorial hospital, Woodstock. Private services were held, with burial in Woodland cemetery. The deceased, 61 years of dge, is survived by a brothe r , W i l l i a m D u r a n t , w i t h whom she resided. FRANK WACHEK Services were conducted M o n d a y m o r n i n g f r o m t h e Querhammer funeral home in Crystal Lake for Frank Wachek, 72, of 4009 Johnson avenue, Burton's Bridge, who died Friday, Oct. 21. in his home. Burial was in Bohemian National cemetery, Chicago. Mr. Wachek was born Sept. 15, 1894, in Chicago and had resided for four years in Burton's Bridge. A retired bricklayer, he was a member of the Bricklayers Union, No. 766, of Chicago and Prospect Lodge 957, AF & AM. He is survived by his widow, Emily; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Kolina of La- Grange Park and Mrs. Harold Eynon of Naperville. A son, Frank J., preceded him in death. RICHARD WOLF Marine Private Richard A. Wolf, son of Mrs. Helen Wolf of 104 W. Sunnyside road, McHenry, was graduated from eight weeks of recruit training at the Marine corps recruit depot, San Diego. He will now undergo four weeks of individual combat training and four weeks of basic specialist training in his military job field before beng assigned to a permanent unit. Pvt. Timothy I. Bacon, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn I. Bacon, 1924 S. Darrell road, McHenry, completed a heavy equipment repair course at the Army Quartermas t e r school, Ft. Lee, Va., Oct. 10. During the twelve-w e e k course, Pvt. Bacon wasi trained in the installation and repair of quartermaster vehicle components. He also received /instruction in carpentry, pipefitting, welding, and electrical theory. Arrity Private David R. Rudin, 19, son of Mrs. Dan Palmer, 3205 Biscayne road, McHenry, was assigned Oct. 11 to Headquarters company, U. S. Army garrison, Ft. Leavenworth, Kas. Rudin entered the Army last July. He is a 1965 graduate of Larkin high school, Elgin. Airman Alvin E. Otto, USNR, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin W. Otto of 2009 N. Ringwood road, McHenry, is a crewmember aboard the seaplane tender, USS Salisbury Sound (AV-13), conducting Seadrome Operations in Buckner Bay, Okinawa. The Salisbury Sound serves as flagship for Rear Admiral Roy M. Isaman, Commander Patrol Force Seventh Fleet. Homeported at Oak Harbor, Wash., she is commanded by Navy Captain C. E. Mackey. FRANK ROSING Funeral services were conducted Friday morning from the George R. Justen & Son funeral home for Frank Rosing of Lakemoor, who died Oct. 10 of a heart attack at his home. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery. Mr. Rosing, 65, was born at Volo Feb. 1, 1901, and had resided in Lakemoor for the past eleven years. Survivors are his wife, Murl; a brother, Albert, of Libertyville; a sister, Ann Molidor, of Grayslake; four ANNA B. TENNERT • Services for Mrs. Anna B. Tennert, 72, of 3216 W. Beach drive, McHenry Shores, were conducted Saturday afternoon £: at 1 o'clock from the H. Marik Sons funeral home in Berwin, with interment in Glen Oaks cemetery, Westchester. Mrs. Tennert died Oct. 18 in her home of a heart httack. The body was at rest at the Peter M. Justen Son funeral home Thursday „ evening and it was transferred to the Marik chafpel on Friday. Marine Private Philip J. Schmidt, son of Mr. John Destefanis of 208 N. Ridgeway, McHenry, was graduated from eight weeks of recruit training at the Marine corps recruit depot at San Diego. Under the supervision of veteran noncommissioned officer Drill Instructors, he learned small arms marksmanship, bayonet fighting, and methods of self-protection. He also received instruction in military drill, history and traditions' of the Marine Corps, and other academic subjects. Mrs. Henry Mc- Mahon was welcomed as a new member. Regular meetings and programs were set up for 1967. A calendar will be made up and distributed to all members at the December meeting. This will be used instead of monthly notices. Mrs. George Johnson explained the proper way to start geranium S^ps and Mrs. Lillian Cox talked about the annuals which could be sown now for earlier spring bloom. Next month's meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. J. J. Gruenwald, 510 N. Clement Lodge road on Nov. 16. Mrs. Lillian Cox will present a program on horticulture. CD. -- 8 . MTERN1ST TO SPEAK BEFORE DIETETIC GROUP "Coronary Artery Disease" will be the address at the Nov. 2 dinner meeting of the North Suburban Dietetic association. Dr. Robert C. Kloempken, internist and staff member at Northwest Community hospital, will be the speaker. A buffet dinner will be served before the program. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Northwest Comm u n i t y h o s p i t a l , A r l i n g t o n Heights. Reservations will be taken by Mrs. Howard Shub, chief dietitian at the hospital, or by Mrs. William Marlow of Northbrook. A tour of the recently enlarged and remodeled dietary department will be of interest to the members also. Shop In McHenry TWO ATTEND MEETING OF MED ASSISTANTS Mrs. Joanne Houghton and Mrs. Dorothy Stoffel, assistants to Robert Addison and George Alvary, M.D.'s at McHenry Medical Group, attended the tenth annual convention of the American Association of Medical Assistants at Chase-Park Plaza hotel, St. Louis, Mo., last week. Convention highlights included a discussion by government, medical and pharmaceutical representat i v es on how medicare and drug |i abuse laws affect the doctor's practice. Also featured on the program was a speech by Charles L. Hudson, M.D., president of the American Medical association; talks on interpersonal and psychological communications; and an English physician's comments on the work of medical assistants observed on his study tour around the world. The American Association of Medical Assistants is a national professional organization of 12,500 physicians' office employees. Among its major projects is tHe Certification Program for Medical Assistants. RICHMOND CLUB IS HOSTESS TO FEDERATION MEET The Richmond Woman's t lub was hostess to the fall meeting of the McHenry County Federation of Woman's clubs, held in the Legion home in that city. The meeting "'was opened with a greeting by the president, Mrs. Gordon Sergant, who then introduced Mrs. Jos. Huff, director of the McHenry County Association for Retarded Children, which has been chosen as the object of the county project this year. With the help of slides. Mrs. Huff described the fine results of this special education and counseling. They have twelve people, aged 16 to 25, for which the workshop provides many outlets for both trades and crafts. At present, the McHenry Baptist church is available to them, with the work maintained entirely by contributions. Mrs. Oswald, state arts chairman, made helpful sug- „ gestions for the penny art fund and announced the Seventh district meeting Oct. 28 at Park Ridge school for girls. "" / Mrs. Walter Sir, Crystal Lake, president, introduced Mrs. Claude Miller, who had been honored with a fiftyyear pin. The next regular meeting of the McHenry County Woman's clubs will be held April 12 at Cary, with the club of that city to act as hostess. ONLY ONE WAY . . . Dennis Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith of 2120 W. Church street, has been serving in Germany since leaving this country last July. The young man took his basic training at Fort Hood, Texas. He is a 1964 g r a d u a t e o f M c H e n r y h i g h school. Pvt. Smith is a member of the 4th Armored division, driving a tank.
