Hey!" came back to the Warrior football scene last Friday night as the Hargis huskies overpowered the Zion-Benton team 27-0. It was Homecoming at Mr- Henry High and the Warriors made the day complete. You just have to have a victory on the occasion of old grads coming home to boost. AdvSnce reports indicated that you couldn't go through the ZeeBee line. You had to go around or over. As it turned out, those determined Warriors opened big holes and the tanks rolled through. Elm Sr. McHenry Lossman repeatedly smashed up the middle, dragging Zee Bee tacklers with him and strewing others about in his path. His efforts were lessened by a line which, after a month of ineptitude, blasted the defenders around like so many rag dolls. Rich Olesczuk also added to the Warrior total with three successful conversions, the first one being blocked. This reporter had viewed two crunching practices during the week, and it was evident that the Warriors were going to be up for a big effort. However, with a history takes, only thex heads under the helmets could decide the outcome. This football game was their finest hour this season, and the orange and black proved to themselves that victory could be theirs, 'rtiis next week will prove a stern test because the Cats of Libertyville, losers of only one game, will venture onto McCracken field for the 1966 home season finale. A first division finish will be ours if the Warriors can come up with two more fine performances like the one witnessed Fridiy night. On Tuesday at Antioch, the thinclads were swamped 17- 42, by an Antioch team which has yet to lose a dual or tria n g u l a r m e e t . . T h e b e s t finishes the varsity harriers could muster were a 5th and 6th by Wagner and Lamont, an 8th by Alderson, and 11th and 13th by Roby and Stahl. This fine Antioch team, which placed third in the strong Lake county meet, completely dominated the finishing times over their home two mile course. Their pushers in 9th and 10th place gave the Warriors one of their highest point totals of the season. However, on a cool sunny day on their home course, the McHenry tracksters defeated North Chicago, 23-35. The orange and black ended their dual meet season on the upswing, with finishers coming in 2nd. 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 7th. The Warriors who did the scoring were, in order; Tony Wagner, Mark Alderson, Mark Alderson, Sam Lamont, Will Stahl, and Dale Snell. However, Haywood of the Warhawks finished first, 20 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor. The little ^ Warriors also pulled off a victory, 20-36, with Roby, M. Smith, Davis, W. Smith, and Pictor being the top finishers. Coach Don Seaton was quite pleased to end the dual meet season with a double victory. The two remaining tests will be the conference and district meets. Lack of an outstanding runner will most likely hamper Warrior efforts, but maybe the smell of downstate roses will spur our tracksters to greater heights* FOOTBALL Varsity and Sophs Fri., Oct. 28 - 6:00 p.m. Libertyville at McHenry.
