JPersonals Mrs. Eleanor Wiater arrived Saturday from Long Beach, Calif., to be a guest over Thanksgiving in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Althoff. Mrs. Carl Lobitz has returned from a visit with relalives in Kansas City. Mrs. Kenneth Flashberger of Gwinn, Mich., has been spending several days with her mother, Mrs. Mike Deg- «>n. Sp-4 Thomas Justen, son of the Ralph Justens, who served in Viet Nam for a year and later in Colorado Springs, Colo., has been released from service and returned to the home of his parents last weekend. Jerry Kimble of Findlay, Ohio, who served with Tom in Viet Nam and shortly released from service, spent a few days recently in the Justen home. Mr. and Mrs. James Althoff returned last Wednesday from an enjoyable five days vacation in Jamaica. William Weyland and brother Bud Weyland, visited the former's father-in-law, Robert Conway, at Veterans Research hospital in Chicago. Thursday evening. Mrs. Verena Wentworth Owens and her sister, Mrs. Alta Frazer, of Sacramento, Calif., old time McHenry residents, and the former's daughter, Jean, of Rockford, visited old friends here last week. Mr. and Mrs. William Althoff were among a group from here who went to Elgin Sunday evening to attend a dinner commemorating the seventy-fifth anniversary of Elgin court of the Catholic Order of Foresters. 1st Lieut. Mark Vycital, Air Commander with transport Air Command of the U.S. Air Force in Okinawa, arrived unexpectedly Thursday night for a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Vycital. His wife, the former, Pamela Monroe, of McHenry, is with him in Okinawa. The Vycitals' other son, Gary, is due home from St. Paul Wednesday to spend the Thanksgiving holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Siebert of Salem, Wis., spent a recent day in the Vycital home. UXILIARY NEWS HOSPITAL FUND DRIVE The 1966 Memorial Hospital for McHenry County association membership drive is underway. Notices to renew the membership are being mailed out this week. In addition, prospective members are being sent another letter inviting them to join and explain to them the reasons why their membership has double meaning. FABM EXPORTS LEAHDEIS Illinois led all other states in the total value of U.S. farm exports during the 1965- 66 export season. The value of Illinois exports, $666 million, was $171 million more than that of each of the two states that tied for second place in this valuation. Total value of U.S. farm exports during the period was $6,681,000,000, more than one-fifth of total world farm exports and more than any other country. This is a record high, surpassing by 10 per cent the previous year. California and Texas each accounted for $495 million in value of farm exports, tying for second place. meat Nightly . Geraldine Dick, a transferee, and Angela Brown, a reinstate, were welcomed in as members of our auxiliary. Letters were read from the Woodstock Children's Home, thanking the auxiliary for sponsoring a child last Christmas from the National Home at Eaton Rapids for the donation to the canned food drive which was hel drecently, and others. Ethel Groth, membership chairman, reported on the drive fro 1967 dues. We now have reached the 90 percent mark. This leaves few to make it the 100 percent we need to be represented in the corsage to be presented to the 5th district president. Genevieve Bradle y reported that thank you letters were sent to the Devilaires and the Mark IV band for providing entertainement to the veterans at Downey hospital. The third Wednesday of the mont Gen goes to Downey hospital as our hospital chairman. Anyone interested in accompanying her contact her before the, next trip to the hospital. Vi Schuble reported on presenting an American flag to the Altar and Rosary sodality of St. Patrick's church on Nov. 7. Ethel Groth reported on the rummage sela w hhic was held at the clubhouse in September and once more expressed appreciation to all who donated their time to make it a success. It was decided that we would sponsor a child again this year at the Woodstock C h i l d r e n ' s h o m e f o r t h e i r Christmas celebration. Mildred Aheam was elected to fill the vacancy for the balance of the term for threeyear trustee. "The auxiliary Christmas party will be held on Monday, Dec. 12. A meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. since this will be our only meeting in the month of December. Dinner will be at 7 p.m. Each member is asked to bring a dish to pass and the main course will be provided by the auxiliary, as in the past. There will be no grab bag gifts this year. In place of it, each member is asked to place one dollar in a card and bring this, to be used to purchase toys for the Christmas baskets, also bring canned goods for the baskets. Genevieve Bradley, hospital chairman asks that combs, tooth brushes, tooth paste, hankies, etc. be brought for the men at Downey hospital. Christmas party chairmen are Jean Wiles, kitchen; June Schmunk, decorations; and Genevieve Bradley, games. The next meeting will be held at the clubhouse on Mohday, Nov. 28.
