DEATH CLAIMS LONNIE SMITH Lonnie Smith, a former longtime resident, passed away on Sunday evening. He farmed in the Ringwood area lor many years, and will be remembered by many lor a I folks. On Wednesday, the ladies will meet in the home of Mrs. L. E. Hawley for their Christmas exheange of gifts. Hope Church at 9:.'J0 a.m. Dec. 14, the W.S.C.S. women will meet at the church at 12 noon to leave for the home of Mrs. Buchert in Richmond, where the meeting will he held. Mrs. Kunz Entertains Mrs. Gerry Kunz entertained a group of ladies in her home on Nov. 14 at a demonstration. Attending were Mrs. Paul Walkington, Mrs. Leonard Arkrrman, Mrs. Ruby Shepard, Mrs. Anna Shadle, Mrs. Flora Carr. Those attending from out of town were Beulah Karls of Richmond, Heidie Oliver, Little Martin and Pearl Leach of Island Lake. Jeanette Hoffman and iviadge Knutter of Wonder Lake, Lois Rychly and Carol Kunz of McHenry and Georgianne Mendolski of McHenry. Refreshments were served. Birthdays Happy birthday to Jim Pearson and Paul Walkington who celebrate their natal day on Dec. 12. And to Edith Dowell, who celebrates her birthday on Dec. 13, Serving Lunches On Dec. 21, Althea Walkington and Helen Barker will serve barbecues. Then a short rest until Jan. 11. THRDUfHIME $30,000 PROGRAM TO STIMULATE AREA TOURISM Representatives of eight counties in northeastern Illinois, excluding Cook, have announced plans for a 530,000 program to stimulate tourism during 1967. The program, underwritten with local and matching state funds, includes support for a Water Festival and Regatta on the Chain-OLakes and the Lilac festival in Lombard. Six ski resorts, ice fishing, and forest preserve toboggan slides will be publicized in metropolitan papers with a series.
