They have played five games and 'h^vat won four of them, which 1 must say is pretty fjood. Richmond, Fox River Grove, Harrison and Big 1Hollow have been victims of the Wildcats attack. A tall Hebron team was responsible for their one loss. In their most recent game :igainst Big Hollow, the Wildcats scored an easy 40 to 17 victory over their much taller opponents. Bob Kuechel led the scoring with 17 points, followed by Bruce Harbecke with 12. Chuck Filip and Gary Hosier led in rebounds with 11 ;ind 10 respectively. The Wildcats will take on ;i faculty five for the students enjoyment Wednesday, Dec. 21. Doubly Blessed "Proud as peacocks", that is what Phil and Eleanorc /Mangold are since their daughter gave birth to twin boys on Dec. 5 in the Sherman hospital. The Mangolds are former residents, having resided for several years on Spring Grove Road. Bill and Joy Ninsgern of Cooney Heights are well pleased with their newest additions. That brings their total of pattering feet around the house up to ten. (That is five children). More Diaper Line News Two of our local residents became first time grandparents with the birth of one baby. The Sylvester Tonyans and the Clarence Regners are the proud new grandparents. Lt. and Mrs. John C. Regner welcomed a daughter, their first child, who will be named Sara Elizabeth. The little lady was born in the U.S. Army hospital in Heidelberg, Germany, on Dec. 1 amd weighs n petite G lbs. 2 pz. Congratu-* lations 1o all these happy people. Progressive Party For Birthday Club The birthday club members of a local group gave their husbands a treat and took them along on a progressive dinner party last Sunday. The first two courses which were their appetizers, both in solid and li^ud form, were served at the pick Barrows and Ray Tansey]homes. The happy holidayersf proceeded to the Lee Marshall home for soup. Then it wa^ on to the Bill Haag home for the salad course. The main course of the dinner was served in the Bill P< Jorgensen home in Dutch , Creek Woodlands. Staying iiv^ home* the same subdivision for des- • sert ws the next stop. This was in the Tom Cahil home. The festivities continued on the rest of the evening in the Pete Peterson home. The merrymakers exchanged gifts which were planned for couples. They all had so much fun that a repeat* for next year, is already in the planning stage. Party Has Two Hosts Two cousins who celebrated their fifth birthdays recently had a party in their honor in the George Oeffling, Jr., home last Sunday. They are Dwayne and Allen Oeffling. Gathering there were the grandparents, the senior George Oefflings, along with the families of Ab and George Oeffling. Dwayne's grandfather, Lawrence Cook, also participated in the birthday fun. Presents were opened by the boya and delighted them no end. Supper was served to all later in the evening. Deatla S&oc&s IFteanlly The untimely death of Joseph P. Grens, Jr., of Bartonville, has left his family with a great emptiness. Mr. Grens, age 42, passed away at the St. Francis hospital in Bartonville after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, eight children, his father, a brother, and his sister, Mrs. William (Marge) fearth of Spring Grove Road. Funeral services were conducted in McHenry with burial in St. John's cemetery on Monday of this week. We all join in extending our heart felt sympathies to Marge, and all the surviving members. As I bring this column to a close for this week, I would er&onalA Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hoppo and the latter's sister, Miss Frances Vycital, left last week lor Bellevue, Fla., to spend the winter. They will 'be Christmas guests in the home of another sister, Mrs. Clause Harris, and husband in Miami where they will be joined by 1 heir brother, John Vycital, and wife of Washington, D.C., for a holiday get-together. Mrs. Robert Conway, daughter, Mrs. William Weyland. and son, Bill, spent a recent day with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Blanner, in Rockford. Mrs. A. P. Freund entertained her family at a Christmas party Sunday. In the afternoon she was hostess to her thirty-nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren when Santa paid a visit to present them with gifts and lunch in keeping with the occasion was served. Later a buffet luncheon followed by a social evening was enjoyed by her eleven children and their husbands and wives. Funeral services and burial took place in Chicago last Saturday. Mrs. Keough, who cole brated her 105th birthday on Dec. 15. is still alert and wa« able to converse with them. She was born near Wauconda and spent her entire life in Lake County, where she taught school before her marriage. She now resides on a farm with her daughter, Mury. where she moved with her family in 1899.
