Bring all of your friends. AHLGRIMS' NEWEST GRANDDAUGHTER Elizabeth Claire Ahlgrim, a darling little redheaded baby girl, is the newest addition to the Ahlgrim family tree. Born at Lutheran General hospital in Mt. Prospect on June 27 the daughter of Dave and Diane Ahlgrim weighed 8 lbs. 3 3/4 ozs. A three year old bay named David completes the Dave Ahlgrim family. Our congratulations to Lu and A1 Ahlgrim, the grandparents, and to the Dave Ahlgrims. Along with the happy news of the granddaughter, Lu tells me that their daughter, Joyce, her husband, Roger, and son, Timmy, will leave Santa Cruz, Bolivia, South America, in September and head for the United States. They have been gone for 5-^ears and Timmy, who is 4 years old, has never seen his family here. Needless to say, they are all quite anxious about the reunion. Joyce and Roger are medical missionaries. They mu$t have many inter e sting ex- -periences to relate. 2 TRAVELERS | Chuck, Eunice, Dean and Dawn Heise recently returned from a 3 week vacation, which began with the 4th of July ^.weekend spent in Saugatuck, Mich, On July 5, they left there and headed for Detroit, taking in the Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. From there they went to Niagara Falls and then on to Expo 67. They camped there and said the campgrounds were excellent. They visited 21 of the 90 pavilions mid listed the Russian and German among those they enjoyed most. The Canadian people were extremely friendly and helpful, although Chuck did have trouble making himself understood on occasion.^ Fr^m Expo they went to Ottawa where they witnessed the changing of the guard and Chuck realized a life long dream of seeing a real live Northwest Mounted policeman. Their last week was spent at Big Sand, Wis., where they -camped at the same grounds tJsr*' lsistf war. Lu and A1 'Ahlgrim spent an enjoyable vacation at Pine River, Minn., with Al's cousin, the Ed KuMicks, ROLLER SKATERS Our daughter, Gail, and her friend, Valarie 'Spike' Peterson enjoyed an unusual experience on the 4th of July. They celebrated the day be roller skating across the Golden Gate Bridge. Both of the girls are thoroughly enjoying their stay in the beautiful city of San Francisco. > CONDOLENCES Our sincere sympathy to Carol Carlson and her family on the death of her Dad, Herbert Emmering, of Berwyn. He succumbed to a heart attack on Monday, July 24, at MacNeal Memorial hospital in Berwyn. He leaves his wife, Winifred, two daughters, Carol Carlson and Nancy Marshal, one son, Dr. Thomas Emmering of Wheaton, six grandchildren (Janice and Linda Carlson) and three brothers. It was our privilege to know Mr. Emmering from the church which Clar attended as a youngster, and we know what a loss his family will feel. He was very active at the Cicero Bible Church where he has been a member since 1927. YOUNG REUNION We had a reunion of the Young family on Sunday, July 23. Guests of honor were Mom and Dad , Young from CamariUo» Calif., who were vacatioriljg here for a week. On hand were Pete, Dot and Lynn Young from Palatine, Doris and Elmer Weihs and Ches Young from North Riverside, my Mom, Mrs. E. Wilier from Berwyn, and Tom Dougherty. ASSOCIATION NEWS The next general meeting of the Lilymoor association will be held Tuesday, Aug. 8, at 8 p.m. LADIES LEAGUE Held their social evening Wetaesday, July 19. Bunco was played, the winners were Olive Corbet!, Jo Johnson, Lillian Venable and Jean Dember. Booby went to Viola Arbogast. Guests for the evening were Lillian Venable and GennyGiannola. VACATIONS IN GERMANY Miss Judy Vacondio left Monday, July 24, to spend three weeks vacation visiting with her brother-in-law, sister and family in West Baun, Germany. Judy will not only visit with Don and Joan Deeuw and children, but will take in the interesting sights of Germany. GET-WELL Wishes go to Pete Engles who is a patient at the McHenry hospital. Here's hoping you are now home, Pete, and are just fine. Lil Wijas is still up at Mayo Clinic taking treatment for her illness. Continued happiness to both couples, BITS OF NEWS The Ramages had fun at a Hawaiian Luau in Fox Lake on Saturday given at the home of a friend, Harold Juul. On Tuesday the Ramages spent the day attending a Fox Lake golf outing at the Pistakee Country Club and had dinner there. The Whitneys are back home after two weeks vacation in Hayward, Wis., where they fished, swam and went horse back riding at Pine Shores Lodge. Linda Hattan went with them so got in on the good times. Quite a batch of fish were caught, some of them being enjoyed up in Hayward and a batch brought i her daughter and son-in-law twelve of her fourteen grandchildren were there. RETURNS TO CALIFORNIA Richard and Rose Marie Rathke and children, Paul and Angela, returned to California *tafter spending three weeks visiting with Richard's father and grandmother, Paul and Hulda Rathke. They also visited with other relatives and friends. back to Grandpa Zeimet. While in town they found a store which had lots of jars of candies and home made fudge so Audrey forgot about her diet and indulged a bit. Joyce Lexow took Beth and Lee to the Shri^rrs Circus in Rockford on Thursday and since this was the first time the children, had seen 'wild animals' close up they got quite a kick out of it. SEND CHEER Louise Winters is in the McHenry hospital under observation. Hope by the time this comes out she is back home and feeling great again. Braun com-g pany. s £ Conduct Annual Summer Classes In Area Church The Chain-O-Lakes Evangelical Covenant church, 4815 North Wilmot, across from Whispering Hills, will conduct its annual VBS Aug. 7 to ii, 9 to 12 a.m. Classes are provided for children ready for kindergarten through those finishing eighth grade. Members of the staff include Mrs. Wm. Howard, Mrs. Karl Rau, Mrs. Terry Stoner, Mrs. Dwight Wernquist, Mrs. Robert Hirsch and Mrs. Clarence Mason. Mrs. Ed Hedborn, Miss Debbie Poll and Miss Shari Mason will assist. A closing family picnic and program will be held on the church grounds on Sunday noon, Aug. 13. HOLD AWARDS BANQUET Recently, the McHenry County Industrial Education and Training association held its annual awards banquet. The occasion was to recognize the efforts and achievements of the young men receiving technicaltraining through companies participating in the McHenry County Training association. The Industrial Training association assists member companies in the training of apprentices, draftsmen arid other technical personnel. At the occasion, students were presented awards for completion of one, two, three, and four years training. Twelve men were especially honored for completion of the entire four year program. They were Karl Myer, Precision Twist Drill and Machinery company; Terry Marvin, Star line, Inc.; William Kline, T & K Tool and Manufacturing company, Inc.; Keith Vansteamkiste, Wauconda Tool and Engineering company; Barry Bur bury, Ancaran, Inc.; Arthur J.
