HOME ON LEAVE Jack Jacobson, son of the Charles Jacobsons, is expected home, Sept. 15, for a 30 day leave. Jack is in the Air Force and after his leave, he has been assigned to Washington, D.C. WELCOME BACK TO THE LAKE Jack and Renee O'Neil and their four sons are residing in Sunrise Ridge. Jack's mother, Mrs. Mary O'Neil, will also be residing with them. The O* Neils will be remembered as former residents of Shore Hills. A big welcome to all, it's nice to have you back at the Lake. ANNIVERSARY Happy ninth anniversary to Charles "Charlie" and Dorothy Jacobson on Sept. 17. NATIVITY LUTHERAN CHURCH NEWS New "Adult Education Course" begins Wednesday, Sept. 20. Knowledge is only attained through hard work and study. We can never expect to wake up some morning and have first hand knowledge of the Bible if we have not taken the time to study. To help the members of Nativity be better equipped to spe^k intelligently of what the Word of God says to today's world. Pastor Johnson will conduct another adult course called "Paul'sGospel". The class will begin at 7:30 fi.ni. The Sunday morning adult study course, held during the Sunday Church School time, 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., also conducted by Pastor Johnson, Will be called "Genesis, the Book of Beginning." BAPTIZED Michael Elliott Wade, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert B. Wade, Highland Shores, was christened recently at Christ the King. BIBLE CHURCH NEWS Friday, Sept. 15, 7 p.m., the Pioneer Girls, Colonists and Pilgrims will meet at the church. The Pals Club will meet at Harrison school. Bus service will be available. WONDER LAKE SQUARE DANCERS The Wonder Lake Squares by popular demand are holding square dance lessons again this fall. As a free sample they are having a dance for all persons who would like to find out how much fun today's square dancing really is. This dance will be at Nativity Lutheran church, 3506 E. Bobbi Hansen, daughter of the Muss Hansens, is attending Patricia Stevens School, Chicago. Nancy Ruggero, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. S.L. Ruggero, will be a sophomore at Wright Jr. College, Chicago. Tops Club was honored to have as their speaker of the evening - Mrs. Delores Burkett, leader of the Round Lake Tops Club. Mrs. Burkett, who has lost 80 lbs. in the past year, is well qualified to talk on the subject of weight reduction. From a 26!^ down to a .16% in quite a drop in dress size. She looked slim and lovely and greatly inspired the thirty-five members and guests with her discussion. Several of the guests joined the club that same evening. TOPS needs more members. Right now they have twelve openings before they reach their limit of membership. They will take in anyone who has a genuine weight problem and needs to lose 20 lbs or more. TOPS QUEEN RECEIVES TROPHY At the guest meeting of Wonder Lake Tops on Aug. 30, Kitty Bartlett was crowned 1966 Queen. Kitty lost 45 lbs, in 1966 and was presented with the crown, the TOPS Trophy of the Year, and the royal blue robe. Some of the members of the WLS Weight Reduction Club of McHenry were present and sang the "Queen Song" in honor of Kitty. Diet refreshments were served after the program.
