There will be a spring dance held at the Johnsburg hall either on April 23 or May 7, will keep you posted on this. There will be a free picnic at the end of July, date on this is also not definite. At the M&rch meeting new officers will be announced, also at that meeting we will show movies on Viet Nam and Gemeni 4. t)ues for the coming term should be paid in March and don't forget the car stickers. Mr. Tennert has lots to sell. JToyce Lexow furnished all the goodies for our refreshments to show her appreciation to all the members who were so cooperative all the year when she called them to bake a cake. Wedding Bells for Mr. Neuhartli Mr. John Neuharth and Mrs. Mary Wood of Country Club subdivision were married Jan. 27 iij the Community Methodist church in McHenry.. They will make their home at 3101 W. Still Hill drive. Congratulations and all good wishes to the happy couple. Showers, Showers, Showers Sandi Wetzel, the most surprised girl in these parts, was given two more showers over the weekend. The one on Jan. 30, given by the mother of the groom-to-be, Mrs. Ballowe, was attended by fifty friends and a buffet dinner was sensed after the opening of the many gifts. On Feb. 1 another shower given by the bridal party and held at the V^W was attended by thirty guests and punch, cake and coffee were enjoyed. Sandi has a room full of everything one could desire to furnish her new home and even though there were so many gifts there were very few duplications. Welcome the Lelohts A warm welcome to Douglas and Gail Leicht who have been living in the home at 614 Meadow road for a few months and are from Arlington Heights. We hope they will like living in our little community and if you are around Meadow road stop by and say 'hi' to them. Get-Weil Wishes Friend and neighbor Ing Corcoran is slowly recuperating from a back injury which she got while raising the garage doors. Husband Bill is still grounded after cataract removals and Ing laughingly calls their house the "Corcoran Infirmary." Hope they will soon be completely well again. PETER'S AT DEANERY MEET Fourteen women represented St. Peter's parish at a meeting of the McHenry Deanery Council of Catholic women held at Christ the King parish in Wonder Lake on Monday night, Jpn. 31. Ninety-five women were present from Catholic parishes all over McHenry County. Reports by committee chairman told of the progress made in each committee and encouraged the interest and help of all members. The Newman Co-ordinator spoke on the project for the Newman Catholic Youth center at Northern Illinois University and asked all parishes to participate in this program. Extremely interesting was the talk given by Sister M. Alberta Marie on the Role of Catholic Women in Society today. The Altar and Rosary Society were hostesses and served coffee and cake. grade was planned. An open house will be held at the school on Wednesday evening, March 2, coffee and cake will be served. Meeting adjourned. The committee in charge served refreshments. Sickness Mrs. Nora Miller has been very ill but is now improving. Mrs. Agnes May has been released from the hospital and is feeling better. Pleasant journey and a safe return to her. First Grandchild Mr* and Mrs. Martin Koleno. Jr., announce the birth of their first child, a son, Martin, III. The young man, born Feb. 6 at St. Theresa's hospital, Waukegan, weighed 9 lbs., 4 oz., and was 22 inches long. He is the first grandchild for the Senior Martin Kolenos of McHenry Shores and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Sabby of Sunnyside Estates. Mrs. Koleno is the former Dorothy Frizzell. PTA The PTA met at Spring Grove Elementary school on Wednesday night February 2. Fourteen members were present. Vice-President T h e 1 m a Adomaitis presided in the absence of President Dorothy Vermillion. The Vermillion family are moving to California and the vice-president will take over the duties of president. Sonia Miller is secretary. It was voted to purchase new library^ books for the school. A Valentine party for pupils from first to sixth Winter Vacation Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Petska have just returned from a visit in Northern Wisconsin with relatives. Shower Miss Lorraine Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Miller was guest of honor at a shower held for her at town hall on Friday night. Friends and relatives were present and the honored guest was the happy recipent of many lovely gifts. Games were played and a lunch was served. Miss Miller will become the bride of Dennis Zarnstorff on Feb. 12. St. Patrick Party March 15 Plans are being made for the annual St. Patrick card party and luncheon to be held at St. Peter's parish hall, Spring Grove, on Tuesday, March 15. Luncheon will be served at noon and the afternoon may be spent playing your favorite card game. This is due to the fact that I didn't have any news to put in. I would appreciate any news ynu have, and it would be a big help if you would call me. There are, as of the last count, fifty-five families in the subdivision and it takes quite a while to make fifty-five phone calls a week so I don't get a chance to call every one. There are four families I haven't been able to contact as two of them haven't a phone, one has an unlisted number, and one I haven't found out their names as yet. Get-Well Last Monday Larry Mays was repairing a tire when the jack slipped on the car and in an attempt to catch" the rear fender he injured his back and has been confined to bed for the week. Tribe Meets The Sioux Indian tribe gathered at the Carlson home this week for a meeting. The tribe is a mgfnber of the Y.M.C.A. and have different projects to |o. This week they made a tem pole from metal cracker cans, which were hard to come by I understand.
