Thanks to all who made the party such a success for the Community Club. CHANGE DATE OF COMMUNITY CLUB MEETING /the Ringwood Community Club will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, Nov. 27, at 8 p.m. in the school, instead of on Tuesday, due to a conflict of Scouts meeting, making it impossible for many to attend. Bettie Winston and Lorraine Anderson are in charge of the program which will feature vacation trips via pictures. Here's your chance to take that vacation by pictures, and maybe end up touring Europe, Canada, Florida or beautiful, sunny Hawaii. Sure sounds relaxing to me. How about you? SERVING AT SCHOOL LUNCH On Nov. 29, Claudia Garn and Eleanore Meyer will be serving hot dogs. AROUND TOWN Mr. and Mrs. George Ain- How is the McHenry county History book coming in mid- November? Five at the twenty-five chapters are made up in type, ready for the presses. Handsome page proofs of them are in the editor's office. These five account for more than 175 of the expected 900 to 1,000 pages in the book. Chapter VI--McHenry County of Today--(in a history book that means from I960 to present) has 5ft pages pasted tq>, waiting to hand to the printer when he is ready for them. That means the type ur set, galley proofs have been pulled, pictures have been spatted, and the work is ready for the makeup man. Chapter VI will probably contain another 25 to 30 pages before it is done. (The book is scheduled for distribution July 15, 1968). Chapter VH--the Education chapter--is partly in type and partly in the editorial process. In addition to containing a history of every school system in the county, this chapter will also contain lists of school board members since 1938-a rather large task. Chapter VII will also ger and family of Hebron called on Mrs. Ruby Shepard on Sunday. Mrs. Roland Bauer, Mrs. Urban Bauer, Mrs. J.C. Pearson and Mrs. Robert Brennan attended the holiday buffet demonstration at Christ the King church in Wonder Lake on Wednesday evening. Saturday evening callers in the home of Mrs. Ruby Shepard were, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thompson of McHenry and Mrs. Hazel Colby of Crystal Lake. Algonquin--a huge chapter containing histories on Algonquin village, Cary, Fox River Grove, Lake in the Hills, and part of Crystal Lake-is now being prepared. The printer has a good bit of copy on Algonquin township. Chapter XXV, the Family Biography chapter, is moving along like a freight train. The biographies of families with a history from 1918 and before are coming in every day. These forms have to be typed on the manuscript paper, and proofs have to be mailed to the people submitting the biographies for their final o.k. before the copy is sent to the printer.
