The festival, which annually attracts several hundred thousand spectators and which this year features the native holiday customs of nineteen countries, will be presented in three forms. On view during the entire period, in the Museum's central rotunda, will be a forest of giant Christmas trees, each decorated to "reflect the Yuletide traditions of a different nation. There will also be creches for those countries, like Italy and Ireland, where the Christmas tree custom has ver been accepted. The festive task of decorating the trees will be started early on Thanksgiving Day by delegations from Chicago's many foreign language groups. Many will be dressed in the native costumes of their individual fatherlands.
