HARVARD HOSPITAL Mrs. John Gleason of Wonder Lake and Marion Tucker and Ernest Freund of McHenry were patients during the past week at Harvard hospital. Lennon, 69, a resident of McHenry for many years, died the evening of Nov. 22 in McHenry hospital, where she had been confined for only a few days. Her home was at 1720 W. Hollow, McHenry. The deceased and her late husband were well known on the stage, appearing over radio on a Chicago station as Mama and Papa Schlitz. They also appeared together as Mary Delight and James Lennon, 4n which performance Mrs. Lennon played the accordion and her husband sang. ^ She lyas born Dec. 15, 1897, in Dwillirk, Ind. Mr . Lennon died in 1961. She is survived by two sons, James and David, both of this community; and eight grandchildren. The body rested at the George R. Justen & Son funeral home until 10 o'clock Saturday, when a funeral Mass was offered in St. Mary's Catholic church. Interment was in the church cemetery. Carl; a daughter, Bertha Lou Wattman; four sons, Richard, Charles, George, and Donald; fifteen grandchildren; and a brother, George Kamholz. Services were conducted Tuesday afternoon from the Church of the Good Shepherd, with interment in Chapel Hill Gardens South. FLORENCE SCHMITT Mrs. Florence Kamholz Schmitt, formerly of McHenry, died last weekend in Chicago. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary, James P. Fenton Wo.-' 1 War I Veterans, No. 23. Survivors are her husband, BERNADINE WACHTER Last rites for Mrs. Frederick C. (Bernadine M.) Wachter, 62, of 2134 S. Colby drive, Burton's Bridge, McHenry, were conducted Monday morning from the Querhammer funeral home. Crystal Lake. She died Friday, Nov. 24, in McHenry hospital. The deceased was born Feb. 20, 1905, in Chicago. She had made her home in this area fort the past fifteen ^years. Survivors are her husband, to whom she was married in 1924; two sons, Frederick C., Jr., of Leavittown, N.J., and Richard of Cary; two daughters Mrs. Edward (Nadine) Kula of Burton's Bridge and Mrs. Jeannine Waldin; nine grandchildren; a brother and a sister. Rev. Arthur McKay of St. Paul Episcopal church, McHenry, officiated at last rites, with burial in Mount Emblem cemetery, Elmhurst. LUTHERANS TO SEELMOVIE AT CHURCH DEC 3 The movie, "Letter to Nancy" produced by the Missouri Synod of the Lutheran church, will be shown at 7:30 o'clock at the Aid Association for Lutherans branch meeting to be held Sunday, Dec. 3, in Zion Lutheran church. Admission is free and all members of Zion, Nativity, Shepherd of the Hills and Grace church, Richmond, are welcome to attend. A pot-luck will be served at 5:30, followed by the meeting, featuring reports of delegates to the Illinois Federation convention and election of local officers and directors to the home office. NOVEMBER 29, 1967 - PLAINDEALER - PG. 3 Student Council News The Student Council had its regular weekly meeting last week, with Frank Cuda acting as frresidbnt in the absence of Libby Stinespring. Maxine Moy, Barb Kober, Diana Evans, Rose Adams, Sue Kelsey and Jim Moy attended the district convention in De- Kalb the previous Saturday. They came back with many new ideas for mon^y-making projects such as carnival, along with Sadie Hawkins event, and possibly a malt machine in the new school. We decide 1 to have a talent show for the Christinas program this year, Two performances will be given, one for the freshmen and sophomores and then again for the juniors and seniors. Hie next meeting will be Monday night at 7 p.m. Remember, the students and faculty are invited to come to any meeting. Cathy Becker, reporter. OFFER FELLOWSHIP The Illinois State Historical society has established a fellowship in Illinois history to pay $2,000 for the 1968-69 academic year. Illinois State Historian, William K. Alderfer, said applicants must be enrolled as doctor of philosophy candidates in history and the subject for study must be directly related to Illinois history and must be approved by the graduate committee of the institution.
