" ' New Women's At (.alee u Ray Spohr, Jr. To Claim Bride Officers were elected at the second official meeting of the Women's club of Wonder Lake. Nominated officers were Mrs. Eugene Matesi, president; Mrs. Conrad Rupp, vice-president; and Mrs. George Rink, secretary- treasurer. The women's club of Wonder Lake will be chartered by the General Federation of Women's Clubs. By vote, it was decided ' to have the club year run from May to May so that it would start and end at the same time as, the state federation. As iresult of this, dues will be only reduced for . the remainder of the year. In order to become a charter member dues must be paid by the March 1 meeting. James Bixby attended the January 4 meeting to inform on what the Master association is planning to do to make Wonder Lake a safe and healthy lake. The Women's club of Wonder Lake is planning to provide swimming instruction on the lake this summer and will look into other water safety projects. The club hopes to work with, th^JMaster association to tnake the lake and community a better place in which to live. Riverside drive, McHenry, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, in McHenry hospital, where he had been a patient for only a day. His death ended an extended period of poor health. Mr. Beattie, 78 years of age, was born Sept. 13, 1889, in Cleveland, Ohio. A resident of this area for about twenty years, he was a plasterer in Chicago before retirement. ' Survivors are the wife, Catherine Tunney Beattie, to whom he was married fifty-eight years last October; two daugh- Edjvard/Ge^yiftvjai Heyward and Miss Ruth Beattie; and one grandchild, L/Cpl. Edward Robert Heyward, of Yuma, Ariz. A daughter, Catherine Beattie, died in July of 1965. Rev.
