Mr. Blanner is still very active and alert for his years. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Roberts of Waukegan were Mc- Henry visitors Wednesday and called on his aunt, Mrs. Kathryn Worts, at McHenry hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bienapfl spent a few days recently with friends in Neenah, Wis., where he enjoyed watching the sturgeon fishing on Lake Winnebago. Mr. and Mrs. John Thompson of Kansasville, Wis., were recent guests of his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Thompson, and sister, Mrs. Agnes Adams, andalso visited his brother, George Thompson, and aunt, Mrs. Kathryn Worts, at the McHenry hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Pkul Patzke were^fecent guests of relatives in Crystal Lake where they helped her aunt, Miss Minnie Gaebe, celebrate her ninetieth birthday. Misses Rose and Julie Stilling, Mrs. Margaret Smith and Mrs. Elizabeth Thompson visited Miss Rose Huemann at Villa Addolorata home in Wheeling Tuesday of.last week. Bobby May, Irene Guffey, Frances Widhelm, Rose Staines, Evelyn Freund, Ann Rodenkirch, Cecelia Oakford, Helen Fass, Laura Weber, Bertilla Freund and Elizabeth Thompson of the C.D. of A. were in DoWney to entertain the boys last Wednesday evening and took along a treat of Valentine favors, cookies , cakes and fruit. Mrs. Edward Skoney of Elm- , hurst spent a recent day with her mother, Mrs. Kathryn Weingart. David Bradley, who was enroute from, his home in SJInyside, Calif., to Long Island, N.Y. spent the past week with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. G.A. Douglas. Mis. Dan 0*Shea and Mrs. Gerald Winters of Grayslake were guests of their aunt, Mrs. Carl Weber, Thursday to extend congratulations on her birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kilday, their nine year old son, Bobby and 18 month old daughter, Valerie, returned last week from a three weeks trip to Irthlingboro, England, where they visited her mother, two brothers and their families and many other relatives. Richard Widen, wife and family. Lt. Comm. Widen, a graduate of McHenry high school, had just returned from a tour of Italy and will now be stationed in Washington, D.C. Lucina, McHenry, has been graduated from nine weeks of Navy basic training at the Naval Training center, Great Lakes. In the first weeks of his naval service he studied military subjects and lived and worked under conditions similar to those he will encounter on his first ship or at his first shore station. BARBARA VOGEt IS DELEGATE TO CONFERENCE • ••^Miss Barbara Ann Vogel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Vogel of Greenwood, left for Boston recently, where she .attended a three-day conference on special education. Miss Vogel is the delegate to the conference from the office of special education in McHenry county. At the present time she is the itinerant tutor for youngsters needing special education in the Richmond, Wonder Lake, McHenry and Ringwopd sclrbols, Miss Vogel graduated from Woodstock high school, received her bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois university and her master's degree from San Francisco College, Calif. INJURY SUIT A total of $370,000 is asked by the parents of four minors involved in a January, 1967, accident in Waucondai Dean Paul seeks $300,000 on behalf of his son, William, Gilbert Kioeekner asks $25,000 for his son, Charles, and Mr s„ Shirley Anderson seeks $25,000 each for her sons, William arid Leland. SUIT FILED In a damage suit, Judith Reese Letchford asks $8,000 from Bernard Belpedio arid $2,000 from McHenry Ready Mix on behalf - of her son, Kenneth. The latter was reportedly injured by a truck in an accident while riding,his tricycle. LEON COMSTOCK Leon A. Comstock of Batavia has been named a field director of service area in of the Illinois Heart association, it was announced by Executive Director Thomas E. Daniels. Comstock, who has already assumed duties, will be responsible for coordinating Heart Association activities in the counties of Upper Kane,DeKalb and McHenry. His office will be in Aurora. Comstock recently retired from the U.S. Postal Service after completing thirty-one year's service, most of which involved duties at the post office in St. Charles. During World War I, he served with the Army Air Force in the European Theater of Operations. Seaman Edward W. Schultz, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward V. Schultz of 1905 Rogers avenue, McHenry, is servingaboard amphibious force flagship USS Mount McKinley off the coast of Vietnam, - His ship is the flagship for Commander Amphibious force, Seventh fleet. It also provides communication and specialized support for amphibious group operations off the coast of Vietnam. CANDIDATE Marine Corporal Ron A. Krurasee, son of Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Kurmsee of3418W.Johnsburg road, McHenry, is participating in a firing exercise at Vieques, Puerto Rico, as a member of the Eighth Communication battalion, Second Marine division. During the exercise he will help provide field communications to 4% division. His battalion provides communication facilities for the tactical headquarters which may be organized within a Fleet Marine force, as well as furnishing specialist teams as required to divisions, wings, or force troops units.
