HOSPITALIZED Mrs. Olga Parker was a patient this past week at McHenry hospital. Steven West, seven months old, son of the John Wests, Oakwood Shores, is a patient at McHenry hospital. David LaGreca, three years old, son of the Jim LaGrecas, Oakwood Shores^ was a patient at Woodstock hospital and is now home. Our prayers and best wishes to all for a speedy recovery. Mrs. Roy Wiedrich of Burlington called on Mrs. Fred Wiedrich, Sr., on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. John Hogan were dinner guests on Sunday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hogan. On Sunday, Frank Kempfer was taken out for dinner by his daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Simon and Mrs. Charles Hackett of Chicago. * Linpa L6w spent the weekend home from college studies and returned Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Kynell of Hebron called on Mrs. Ruby Shepard on Sunday. Mrs. Nellie Hepburn spent the weekend with her sister, Annabel Redmon, in Kenosha. BIRTHDAY PARTY Miss Cheryl Kinzie, daughter of the James Kinzies, Wonder Center, celebrated her fourth birthday March 5, with a party. Those joining Cheri in the festivities and refreshments were Kathy and Bobby Kiddell, LaDonna Walker, Joey and Billy Firnbach and April Williams. ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED The engagement of Miss Kathy Lynne Justen, daughter of the Donald Justens, McHenry, to George Koch, son of the Lincoln Kochs, Deep Spring Woods has been announced by herparents. The wedding will take place July 20 at St. Mary's church, McHenry. NEW MEMBERS RECEIVED AT NATIVITY Mr.« and Mrs. Louis Block, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Carr, Miss Mykell Freund, Mrs. John Krenger, Donald Madden, and Mr. and Mrs. Vern Willman were received into,membership at Nativity last Sunday morning at the 11 a.m. worship service. WOMEN'S CLUB OF WONDER LAKE At the March meeting of the Women's club of Wonder Lake several women were accepted as charter members. They are the last charter members to be accepted. From this day forward in order to attend a meeting or apply for membership in the club, you must be invited to attend by a member. Community projects chairman Mrs. James Ahern, reported on the progress of the Red Cross swimming instruction to be held on Wonder Lake this summer. Revisions to the by-laws were made and accepted. Mrs. David White, by-laws chairman, will make all the corrections. One revision being, that the Women* s club of Wonder Lake shall now meet on every thifrd Thursday of the month at 8 p.m. President Mrs. Eugene Mates! appointed three new chairmen: Mrs. Martin Quilty as budget chairman, Mrs. Grant Ernst as ways and means and Mrs. Clayton Bebber as membership chairman. Mrs. Conrad Rupp, vice-president is in charge of compiling the year book and providing the program. At the March meeting Mrs. Rupp introduced Clarence Hummel, county detective juvenile officer. Hummel informed us of the main problems among the youth today, which include: youthful drinking, truancy, vandalism and theft. Because of the interest of the club members, a long question and answer period followed Hummel's talk. A board meeting to include all chairmen is to be held at the home of the president on Thursday, March 21 at 9 a.m. The April meeting of the Women's club of Wonder Lake will be held at the home of Mrs. Donald G e r l i t z , Highland Shores. This has been a hectic week in the Williams household. We moved into our new home on Eastwood Drive, and in the middle of moving, the little ones got sick. VOSE REELECTED HEAD OF PURE MILK Avery A. Vose, nationally prominent dairy farmer from Rt. 2, Antioch, was re-elected president of Pure Milk association at the annual reorganization meeting of the PMA board of directors in Chicago Monday, March 18. Vose is now starting his tenth successive year in that office. John E. Butterbrodt, Rt. 1, Burnett, Wis., was elected first vice-president, Albert Krusemark, Frankfort, 111., was elected second vice-president and Harold L. Smith, Rt. 1, Akron, Ind., was, re-elected thirdvice- president. Robert J. Van Liere, Rt. 2, Salem, Wis., was re-elected secretary. Walter C. Kirchner, Lake Zurich, 111., a member of the PMA staff, is PMA treasurer. Senator Dirksen admonished that those who have the responsibility of public office ought to be very careful that their utterances will never be used by our enemy to lower our morale.
