Contact her only in regards to the clothing. HOSPITAL PATIENT Mrs. C. Fischer was stricken about two weeks ago and was taken by the rescue squad ambulance to the McHenry hospital. She was confined to the intensive care ward for a few days but has been making a remarkable recovery every since. Mrs. Fischer resides between the lomes of her two sons, Rudy and 111, both of Mehring avenue. Ve sincerely hope she will be lome by the time this comes to irint and it will be "up hill' ill the way for her from now on. SURPRISE! SURPRISE! Somewhere between eighty ind ninety relatives and friends irrived at the Cleatus LaFonaine home on Johnsburg road m a recent Sunday afternoon to surprise Jim LaFontaine, who left for service on Tuesday of this week. The guests came Equipped with all the makings of a successful parly. Jim was "bowled" over with the nice gifts he received and could not express his thanks enough. The party-goers came from this immediate area, as well as Elkhorn, Marengo and Woodstock. Jim was feted at another party this past Friday night in the home of his cousin, the Ken Townsends. Mrs. Michels received word last week of the death of her uncle and godfather, FredHoffi bauer, Ohio. The Michels family planned to make the trip there for the funeral but a bad snow storm which closed many of the roads fdrced them to remain here. LONGTIME RESIDENT SUCCUMBS Our sincerest synqjathies are extended to the surviving members of the Paul Schulz family. Mr. Schulz passed away last week after an illness of several weeks. Services were conducted Saturday morning. BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION Richard May was the victim of a surprise party on Monday, March 11. About twenty of his close friends and relatives arrived at his home to help him celebrate his thirty-ninth natal day. May he continue to have such happy, yearly events. BASKETBALL WINNIE Congratulations are in order for manv of our local men and junior members of St. John's court, No. 96. Several of the teams from this area participated in the statetournament held at St. Gregory's in Chicago. First place trophies were awarded to the snjtall team consisting of the sixth graders and younger, and the heavies. A second place lyas captured by the Forester senior team. We .are very proud of all the Forester members who participated in this tournament.* Also it's hats off to all the spectators from here and in the McHenry area who took the time to drive into the city to witness many of these games and give moral support to the players. SUMMER WEDDINGS PLANNED Among our young people contemplating marriage this summer are Bob Schmitt and Jim Smith. The engagement of Penny Conley to Bob was announced by her parents recently. He is the son of Frank and Laura Schmitt. Jim recently flipped a beautiful ring on the finger of Judy Walsh of McHenry. Both young couples have plans for a summer wedding. RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL Mrs. Celia Mason has returned home from McHenry hospital where she has been a patient for the past three weeks. He is enjoying a furlough at his home here and also accompanied by his parents and family.on a trip to northern Wisconsin to visit his grandparents. He is now visiting a buddy, Ernest Viano, at Coal City. Petska spent his first year's service in Sattahip, Thailand. TRANSFER Rev. John Barrett from Mt.
