DEBORAH ANN FOLE^ Miss Deborah Ann Foley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Breier of 3803 N. Richmond road, McHenry, and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Freund, is a member of the school of nursing class at St. Anthony hospital, Rockford, which earlier this month was honored at capping ceremonies. Miss Foley is a 1967 graduate of Marian Central high school. The sermon was presented by Rev. Fr. Lt. John Calkins, chaplain of the hospital school of nursing. Mrs. George Phalin has returned from a plane trip to Minneapolis where she enjoyed a week's visit in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jack Zoia, and family. Mrs. Hetty Reichow of Chicago was a guest in the Robert Thompson home the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bieoapfl have been vacationing in .Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. * Mr. and Mrs. James P. Smith who have been making their home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph M. Freund, since his release from service, are now nicely settled in Barrington where he is employed. Mrs. Peter H. Freund last week returned from Harlingen, Texas, where she spent two months in the home of her sister, Mrs. Dorothy McGreal. Mr. and Mrs. Nick Nett have returned to their home on Riverside Drive after enjoying the Florida sunshine in the home of their daughter, Miss Annabel Nett, in Daytona Beach for the past two and a half months. MCHENRY HOSPITAL Mr. and Mrs. John McGee are rejoicing over, the arrival of their first son, Michael Raymond, on St. Patrick's Day, March 17. The young Irishman has three sisters to watch over him. Mrs. McGee is the former Nancy Stilling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Stilling of Richmonji. The paternal grandfather is Ray McGee. A son was born March 22 to Mr. and Mrs. Howard Marz of Ingle side. Mr. and Mrs. David Emery of Richmond are parents of a son March 18. A daughter was born March 18 to Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Bartman. On March 19 a daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs.' Charles Haack. Mr. and Mrs. J. Raymond Kuna announce the arrival of a son March 21. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Vogel are the proud parents of a son March 22. MEMORIAL HOSPITAL WOODSTOCK Among the patients admitted to Memorial hospital, Woodstock, during the past week were Baby Karl .Linwall, Mary Connors, Robert Demeron, Beverly Bacus, Master Edward Reymann, Angela Merlak, Betty Bland, Wonder Lake; Everett Hunter, Evelyn Hasman, Harold Galvin, Janis Gibson, Louis Pitzen and Robert Hettermann, McHenry, and Edward Snyder, Spring Grove. HARVARD HOSPITAL David Carrington and George Hack of McHenry were patients during the past week in Harvard hospital. was the county-wide luncheon and card benefit. Each of the town's chairmen stated her plans. Mrs. Lund heads the McHenry groups which will present events during the iponth of April. Mrs. David Ladd is in charge in Crystal Lake. There will be both luncheon and Evening card parties. Wonder Lake, headed by Mrs. Mildred Kersten, and also Marengo and Woodstock, will all hold their benefit days on April 24. All proceeds go to the Wqn» men's auxiliary for Mental Health. Many lovely homes in all the areas will be open for the luncheon and card parties. There will be table prizes for the luncheons. Twenty-one new members Gathering Honors Sp/5 David Freund A happy family get-together and dinner party was held at the Harold Freund home last Thursday, honoring their son, SP/5 David E. Freund, on his twenty-first birthday. Dave arrived home Wednesday after 14 months in Korea, just in time to fpl«hrate. He will SDend 45 days here before goiiv tn his next assignment at Fort Bliss, Texas. Those present Thursday were Mr. and Mrs. Len Jensen and four children, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Freund and two daughters and Miss Carol Freund all of McHenry. The honored one's other sister, Mrs. William Wallace, and family of Dayton, Ohio, Were unable to be present but will visit here later. Rummage Sale Among Hospital Auxiliary Events The Woman's auxiliary of Memorial hospital for McHenry County held its monthly board meeting on Monday, March 18 at the home of Mrs. Irwin P. Tucker, Kimball avenue, Woodstock. The main Items on the agenda were the future events planned by the auxiliary. On Wednesday, April 24 and Thursday, April 25 the auxiliary will hold its annual rummage sale. Although this service organization maintains a yearround, nearly-new department in the Gift and Thrift shop, once a year the volunteers hold a large rummage sale in'the basement of the Congregational- Universalist church. Members. are reminded to bring in their nearly new clothing for resale any time during the coming month. Volunteers are also needed to help the committee on the Tuesday prior to the sales as well as on the sales days. Mrs. Leslie Neff or Mrs. Ralph McConnell may be contacted. The semi-annual meeting has been scheduled for Monday, May 20, at Simonini's in Algonquin. Florence Bourke-Ellis will give one of her book reviews. VINCENT KRUPKA Last rites were conducted in Chicago Friday for Vincent Krupka, 74, of Pistakee Hills, who died March 19 in St. Therese hospital, Waukegan. Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery, Forest Park. Survivors include a widow, Agnes; a daughter and a son. Altar And Rosary To Meet Monday The Altar and Rosary sodality of St. Patrick's Catholic church will meet Monday evening, April 1 following the 8 o'clock Mass. The committee in charge includes Rita Ulrich, Mrs. E.A. Hogan, Alvina Latimer, Mrs. Lee Schwarz, Helen Bolton, Mrs. George Kane, Rita Martin, Mary Ann Dettmer, Mrs. George Stilling, Lydia Fenner, Mildred Jedlicka and Marilyn Miller. The meeting will be followed by cards and visiting. Refreshments will be served. FRED T. PATRICK Fred T. Patrick of 3609 W. John street, McHenry, died Saturday evening, March 23, in Memorial hospital, Woodstock, where he had been a patient one day. Death was due to a heart ailment. Mr. Patrick, 78 years of age, was born May 2, 1889, in Chicago and had resided in this community about twenty-five years. He was a retired latherer. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth, nee Von Parpart, whom he married in 1911; one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Fairchild, of McHenry; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Edward (Jen) Johnson of Jamestown, NY. A son, Ernest, preceded him in death. Services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Peter M. Justen & Son chapel, with Rev. Raymond L. White officiating. Entombment will be in Woodland Mausoleum. He was a member of McHenry Lodge, No. 158, AF & AM,members of which were scheduled to conduct Masonic services Tuesday evening at 8 D.m. FRED A. ZANDIER A funeral Mass was sung Saturday in Prince of Peace Catholic church, Linder.hurst, for Fred A. Zandier, 75, of ,Lindenhurst, who died in St. Therese hospital, Waukegan, on March 19. Burial was in Ascension cemetery. Mr. Zandier was co-publisher of the Wonder Lake Party Line for ten years and was well known in this community. He is survived by his widow, Anna G.; a son, Fred F., of Barrington; two daughters, Anna G. Pfannkuche, Palatine and Patricia Rickey, Lindenhurst; also seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. EMMA TESSENDOitF Mrs. Em-na Tessendorf, 72, of Main street, Crystal Lake, died Thursday, March 21, in Sherman hospital, Elgin. The deceased, a native of Crystal Lake, was a lifetime resident of Crystal Lake, and a member of Immanuel Lutheran church. Her husband, Edward C. whom she married in 1914, preceded her in death in 1963. She leaves two daughters, Florence Tessendorf of Crystal Lake and Mrs. Betty Jane Turner of Chicago; a son, Earl of McHenry; one granddaughter, a sister and a brother. Services were conducted Saturday from Immanuel Lutheran church. St. Clara's Court Holds Election St. Clara's court No. 659, National Catholic Society of Foresters will hold election of officers on March 28 in St. Mary's meeting hall at 8 p.m. On March 31 the court will observe annual Communion Mass at 8 a.m. This Mass is for the adult and junior members. There will be a free breakfast following at the Legion home. in the Metz chapel in Chicago last Thursday for Edmund Weber, 78, of Pistakee Hills, who died March 18 in St. Therese hospital, Waukegan. Interment was in Graceland cemetery Friday. Mr. Weber had resided in this community for the past eight years. DR. LEO GERLACH A funeral Mass will be sung Thursday morning at 10 o'clock in St. John's Catholic church for Dr. Leo Gerlach, 73, of 2005 W. Sunnyside Beach McHenry, who was pronounced dead on arrival ai McHenry hospital Sunday, March 24. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Dr. Gerlach had resided in this area for many years and had been a practicing dentist in the Chicago area. He was born Feb. 6, 1895, in Chicago. His affiliations included membership in the McHenry Legion Post, No. 491, and Catholic Order of Foresters, St. John's Court, Johnsburg. Survivors include his wife, Helen, to whom he had been married forty-seven years; also two sons, Leo, Jr., of North Carolina and William Jr., of Chicago; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Clara) Kaleth of California and Mrs. Bernard (Louise) Janco of Chicago; and a brother, Albert of Chicago.
