HUGHES Harold Edward Hughes of 5513 Summerville drive, Wonder Lake, died April 12 atDennison, Texas, following a heart attack. His death came as he was enroute home from his winter residence in Texas. Mr. Hughes, 68, was born May 28, 1899, in Toronto, Canada, and resided in Wonder Lake for eighteen years. He was a retired photo engraver for Cuneo Press;. Survivors are his wife, Ann; three daughters, Mrs. Thom'as (Lillian) Naughton of Chicago, Mrs. Charles (Helen) Caley of Sunny side, McHenry and Mrs. Robert (Catherine) Zorge of. Janesville, Wis.; one son, James Wright oi Lombard; fourteen grandchildren andtengreat grandchildren. The body rested at the Peter M. Justen & Son chapel until Tuesday, when graveside rites were conducted at 11 o'clock in • Christ the King cemetery, Wonder Lake. MARY M. fcONNOR Mary M. Connor, 73, a resident of 2919 Richmond road, McHenry, died last Friday, April 12, in Memorial hospital, Woodstock. The deceased was born Jan. 10, 1895, in Chicago. Mrs. Connor and her late husband operated a tavern bearing their name on Richmond road for a number of years, and after his death she continued in business. Her husband, Ben, preceded her in death. Survivors are three brothers, Bernard Sweeney of Chicago, Kevin of Miami Beach, Fla., and Joseph ofMc- Henry. The body rested at the George ft. Justen & Son chapel, McHenry, A funeral Mass was offered Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Patrick's Catholic church. Burial was in the church cemetery. EDMUND P. MAY A funeral Mass was sung Tuesday morning in St. Mary's Catholic church in Woodstock, • for Edmund P. May of Woodstock, formerly of McHenry, who was killed in an auto accident last Saturday, April 14. Burial was in Calvary cemetery. TJ Mr. May was born Nov. 15, 1912, in Spring Grove, son of the late Peter and Anna May. In 1935 he was married to Rose Jung, who survives. Other survivors are three sons, John of Woodstock, Gordon and Tony of Crystal Lake; five daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Ann) Lalor of Hebron, Mrs. Jack (Mary) Leonard of Ringwood, Susan, Barbara and Rose Marie, all at home; eleven grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Margaret Weber of Fox Lake, Mrs. Emma Kattner of Spring Grove, Mrs. Catherine Johnson of Woodstock, Mrs. Regina Schaeffer and Mrs. Mayme Hoffman, both of Antioeh; and Mrs. Lucille Doetsch of Bristol, Wis.; and four brothers, Bernard J, Fred and Ray of Spring Grove and William of Johnsburg. WED., APR., 17, 1968-PLAINDEALER-PG. 7 D* MARIE MONDRY Mrs, Joesph (Marie) Mondry, 57, of 3116 W. Still Hill drive, McHenry Shores, died Easter Sunday, April 14, in Sherman hospital, Elgin. Mrs. Mondry was born in Kiel, Germany, Oct. 31, 1910. The deceased was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church, Crystal Lake. Since 1952 she had been employed at the Oaks plant in Crystal Lake. Survivors include her husband, to whom she was married in 1955 in Crystal Lake; one son, Peter F. Viehweg, of Joliet; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth fCarola) Viehweg, of McHenry; and one sister, Mrs. William Bettke, of Germany. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Karl Viehweg, in 1951 Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the Warner chapel in Crystal Lake, with Rev. W. Gail Rabe officiating. Burial will be in McHenry Memorial Park cemetery, Woodstock.
