Debris should be removed from spacings between deck boards to let rain water drain through. It's easily done by running a stiff piece of cardboard or a putty knife between boards. 2,317 TOUR NEW HOSPITAL AT ESH '68 OPEN HOUSE Elgin State hospital's new medical surgical building was opened to the public for the first time Sunday, April 28, when 2,317 people visited the hospital's annual open house. Tours centered on the MS building and another unit to accommodate what turned out to be a record number of tourers interested in seeing the uniquely structured hospital opened last November. Twenty-minute tours of the Veteran's Diagnostic center's facilities outlined the comprehensive treatment plan at ESH and closed with a video tape summarizing progressive patient activity from admission to discharge. In the medical surgical building comprehensive tours covered all major parts of the twobuilding complex. Employees and technicians were on hand to explain their specialties to touring visitors. Groups left the lobby at five minute intervals throughout the day for half hour tours on a carefully marked route through the rectangular companion structure to the tower to dietary facilities in the basement. The hospital's Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops provided special traffic patrols and honor guards for the visitors. Guests included many members of the medical profession and staff members from other hospitals. -2 & The Summer Music Theater at Southern Illinois university will present 32 performances of four Broadway musicals on campus this year. Part of the answer comes from a leading home magazine: "If a material looks mellowed to begin with, it will remain ageless. A stone fireplace, a wall of rough-sawn wood or barn boards, distressed finishes-- these improve with the years, ask almost no care." s i I • Choice of five decorator colors • molded permanently in rustproof cases. • Fits windows narrow as 2OV2". • Installs in seconds - no special tools required. • Tough Duramold case made of GE LEXAN® weathers elements, won't rust ever. 385-5500 If you're thinking about doing some landscaping this spring, think of us at Flowerwood.
