The baby was bom early Friday morning to Mr. and Mrs. James Stilling. It was decided by hospital doctors that the baby should be transferred to a' special premature hospital center in Peoria, Illinois. In order that the child could be transferred as fast as possible, a helicopter with special incubator equipment was flown up from Peoria to pick up the baby. Hie helicopter arrived in the mid-afternoon with a nurse from the premature center and the necessary equipment. The photo at left shows the infant being transferred from the emergency room at the hospital in the incubator to a waiting station wagon fbr the ride to the helicopter which had landed across the street at the high school parking lot. At right, John Shay, McHenry fire department helps the nurse and the pilot load the incubator into the helicopter. Note special life-sustaining equipment which is with the incubator at all times. In the photo at lower left, Mr. James Stilling takes a last look at his new-born son before the helicopter leaves for Peoria.
