Shore drive. He is also survived by a daughter, Mrs. Wil- : liam Kohl of McHenry, and a son, Robert, of Westchester, and five grandchildren. Mr. Domrese was a member of the American Legion post and World War I Barracks of McHenry. Services were held in McHenry and Chicago with burial in Concordia cemetery, Chicago. We offer our condolences to Mrs. Alfred Jumper on the recent death of her mother, Mrs. Martha Freeze. Funeral services were held at Woodland cemetery. STROLLING THROUGH THE PARK Sorry for the "fehort column this week, but we were vacationing in Hayward and could do a column for the northland, but am sadly out of touch around here. It was wonderful to come home to a yard that had been beautifully manicured for our homecoming with a sign attached to the inside of the garage door which flopped down when the door opened, surprise! We stayed with Buck and Holly Burger who were terrific hosts for our week there. Pat and Jack Slaughter from Oakhurst were there too with their little ones and although we didn't dent the fish population too much we had a great time. Lee Williams and Steve and Mike were there for the week of fishing and then on Friday were surprised by a visit from Ron and Jackie Creutz and Tom and Chris who were vacationing in Rice Lake. They madeadayofit and all the men had a fling at some fishing. After they left we stayed up and waited for the caravan of fishermen to arrive from McHenry for the weekend. Ray and Lee Bujak, Tim and Lori Farr, John and Danny Arndt, Buzz Bujak, Chuck Pierce, Bob O'Brien, Jim Petersen and Nick Groh drove in and joined the crowd for the fun. We sure had a good time just relaxing and brought home a car full of fish for good measure. Sargeant K. Larson and his wife and two children, Renee and Richard, spent some time visiting with his mother, Mrs. M. Matchen. This was the first time thatGrandmother got to see her new grandson who is one year old. They drove from Laramie, Wyo., where he is stationed and attending the University of Wyoming. Devil's Lake seemed tobethe place to be over the Labor Day weekend for the camping crowd this year. The Drumls parked their camper which was soon filled up with their own group plus Cindy and Buddy and the baby. They found several neighbors were from McHenry so it was like old home week there. The highlight of their weekend was taking Cindy to see the Indian ceremonial dancing at Stand Rock. Bill and Betty Kamp and the kids were also at Devil's Lake with Grandpa and Grandma Druml, Donald Licastro, Betty's sister from Wonder Lake and three of her children and the Fialas of'Crystal Lake. Seems like everyone had a good time in spite of the miserable rain on Saturday. 01' Bluefoot, John Arient, Sr., had a big birthday celebration to mark the momentous occasion. So glad he made it for another year. The big day was August 25. Belated greetings, Dad. The Moose teen club had a picnic at Herzog beach on Aug. 25. The crowd was smaller than they expected, but those who came had a ball. They ate hot dogs and all the trimmings and played the traditional picnic games. Get-well wishes to Mr. Radloff who was hospitalized after an automobile accident. Mr. Jensky is in McHenry hospital too,, after becoming ill at home. It was necessary to take him in the ambulance. Mr. Dywart is still confined to St. Fraiicis hospital in Evanston after injuries suffered in a scaffold accident at work. He is still in serious condition but is showing improvement. Cards would be extremely appreciated. A farewell party was held for Paul Schwegel5 Jr«e who is leaving for college. And a bon voyage is needed for such a momentous journey. Lloyd and Gerry Wagner attended a double birthday celebration in Carpenterivllle on Aug. 25 in honor of Gerry's twin sisters. Les and Nedra Eckhart Visited in Indiana with fiieitds for a week and Bill alsd had a vacation at the same timeVHelaccompanied Wade,: Florence and Bruce Chamblin on a tour to Montreal, Canada, where they saw the Expo '67 which is being shown as Man and His World with added exhibits this year. From there they drove through the New England states where they saw fish factories, and a whaling boat and Fort McHenry, before reaching Boston where there are loads of Americana for the history buff. Sounded like they all had a great time. : Sorry to say many people have been having problems with their gardens and pepple who should have planted their own. The only thing to do is to complain officially to the police as they can only help when they know about it. Lots of hard work has been ruined in the past few weeks. Anyway, Pm glad to be homeand even gladder that school is starting and everyone will be busy with schedules again. Don't forget to attend the Luncheon is Served on Wednesday, at St. Patrick's for the Woman's club. HERE AND THERE IW BUSINESS NEW FS OFFICER Ernest V. I'll feed him, and let him sleep in hid box-house, arid take care of him--an' everything !" " "But he might want to be with his friends/' I said. There was silence as the boy pondered the idea. "All right," he finally said. "I'll let him go. But I bet he'd be happier here with me!" We, too, would be happier if we knew where we belong in the complex pattern of life. God helps us discover ourselves and our place in His universe through His Church. The child didn't know any better. ,Do you?
