DOLORES BRENNAN WEST TOWN CHORUS Barbershop singing groups will be in "high gear" at Woodstock on Sunday, June 23, at 2 p.m. participating groiq>s will perform on the stage of the historic Opera House located on the Square. Anticipating an overflow crowd, (the local organization is making arrangements to pipe the music outdoors and enable those in the Square to listen. Purpose of this free program is to acquaint area people with the sounds of barber shop chorus and quartet singing and hope that any area men, who would like to join the newly-formed organization in Woodstock will let it be known by signing a name card at the performance. All who like good wholesome entertainment are invited to attend and are urged to bring the entire family. For many years, Carrie and Frank Kurth have had the Christmas party at their home, and are deserving of a rest. Furthermore, the gals figured this would be a novel way to celebrate the holiday season. Lois Parenti who made the suggestion, was named chairman. Twenty women were present for the meeting. Mary Kantorski, Minnie Potter, Emma Pyritz, Jean Wade, Bev Zilinskas, Adele Fusciani, Magda Berglund, Margaret Herzog and Carrie Kurth were awarded prizes. Tasty pastry was supplied by Lois Parenti and Gertrude Murphy. There will be no meetings for the women through July and August. They will convene again in September.
