Angie spent a wonderful week with her son, Anthony, who was on his rest and recreation from Vietnam. Angie reports the islands are just beautiful and Anthony looks well. WHISPERS ABOUT FOLKS Susan Marie Sheehon, granddaughter of the Waleses, of 4511 Sussex made her first communion on Sunday at St. Hubert's church in Hoffman Estates. Mr. and Mrs. Albin Johanson of 4508 Sussex have returned from Hot Springs, Ark. They feel real good, like new, Mrs. Johanson said. Having baths and being scrubbed every day made them sort of tired, so they came home to rest. Dr. and Mrs. Myron Shaner of Gibs cm City, a retired air force man, are visiting the John Demkes of 4512 Sussex. Mr. and Mrs. J. Grant, and Kb-, and Mrs. John Quantrum found out that they were married on the same date, Oct, 22 so they got a little party together and celebrated with some of the neighbors. Mr. and Mrs. James Zednick of Chesterfield Circle are new residents . They came from Skokie. Their daughter, Barbara, attends McHenry Junior College, She is an Art student. Their son, James, lives in Rockford, Colo., where he is in test control. Their oldest daughter, Kathryn is married. She is Mrs. Richard Powell of Skokie. OUR TRIP OUT WEST CONTINUED - Awoke to a sunny morning intent on a mad dash to Yellow Stone Park. We stepped for breakfast in Coty, a city named after Buffalo Bill, also stocked up with provisions, for a cook out later in the day. Approached the Rockies through the Schoshone Pass.We finally reached Yellow Stone Park. A truely wonderful place, First we came to Lake Yellow stone, the largest Jake in the world at that altitude. We then turned North and followed the Yellow Stone river to its first fall into Yellow Stone Canyon. We viewed the canyon from Artist Point and all agreed that it was the most beautiful sight ever seen. Then we headed for the Geyser Basin, there again to view the phenomenon of nature known as geysers and hot springs. The entire land scape spouting sulphurous vapors through the trees into the skies. The belching mud holes of various hues called paint pots were startling curiosity. At this time it was far past noon and we decided it was time for our cook out. Just about this time a mother bear and her half grown cubs casually saundered out into the road way. We stopped and took pictures of them as they approached mammabearthen stood up and pushed her head into the car window. She was huge, we took a picture a^ hurried on. After this exciting episode, we camped for lunch and adventured into no man's land. Our next destination was to old faithful geyser and Old Faithful bin, both of which were very interesting.. We did think Castle Geyser was more spectacular than Old Faithful. Hie weather for the day was cold with intermittent light snow. By the time old faithful eriqrted, every hour on the hour, it was 7:30 in the evening. Having been a full and eventful day, we all felt like Alice in Wonderland. However we hadthe sobering thought of having to reach Jackson Hole, throughthe Teton Mountains after dark. As we were leaving Yellow Stone Park we were further delayed by a giant Elk cavorting along the side of the road. Further down the road a herd of moose were forging in the meadow, we left Yellow Stone at dusk and entered the Grand Teton natural forest in stark darkness. As we approached our night lodging a full moon broke through the clouds, illuminating the snow caped peaks around us. Continue d» .
