Back: Mrs. A1 Woermann, Crystal Lake; Gerritt Beverwyk, Wonder Lake, who will present a one-man art show at the 1969 event; and Mrs. David Hunt, Crystal Lake. DON PEASLEY PHOTO Mrs. Bertha Stange, auxiliary president, said the committee has chosen June 20-22 at the Edgebrook school as the date and site for the 1969 show. A traditional feature is a one - man show, and the 1969 attraction in this category will be by Gerritt Beverwyk, Wonder Lake. Beverwyk was in charge of the gymnasium production last year and has shown a keen interest in the^Art Fair. Committee heads will be determined at subsequent meetings and rules will be drawn up. "The Art Fair has provided a large area with an exciting creative interest and has given inspiration to many artists." said Mrs. Stange. Subjects covered dealt with Newsletters, their format and layout, and communication through programs on radio and television. Counselors of the Institute were: James Cox, program director of WSIL and WSIL-TV, Harrisburg; Paul Dugas, general manager of WSIU-TV, Carbondale; and Curtis Small, editor- in-chief of the Harrisburg Republican. Twenty-two mental health educators from all over the state of Illinois attended the three day institute. Information derived from the institute will be used to formulate educational programs in McHenry county. Tit#***- 11 for MEN When selecting a gift for him.... let us help! However I was asked recently if I was reporting the news or editorializing on it. This question lead me to believe that there was something I was unaware of and after finding out just what that something was I shall endeavor to relate the happenings of the past two weeks to you. Any and .all of the statements made oh annexation in this column were verified throiigh what I thought was a reliable source of information, and as r as I know all of the stateents were fact except the recently reported item onthe forming of a new petitiorc-for annexation. Since the original petition was rejected because it was outdated, a new petition would have to be originated in order to start proceedings anew. Since the new petition would cost* several hundred dollars in legai fees it cannot at the present time be initiated unless paid for by private individuals. Since this seems highly unlikely after the defeat of the original petition the issue now seems dropped until at least late summer when the Country Club road association holds its annual meeting, at which time the annexation will undoubtedly be discussed. The road association paid for the original petition some seven years ago however no money has been alloted for forming of a new petition. Mr. Weiss, president of the Country club road association stated he is not aware of interest in starting a petition on the part of the original team who worked on the first one* In view of the fact that the road association would probably finance a new petition if and when there is one it seems unlikely the annexation will be in the near future. LIGHT-WEIGHTS PLAY 0-0 FOOTBALL The McHenry light -weight team played another fine game last Sunday against St. Bjede's, Tom Berent played outstanding defense, he recovered a fiimble and picked off a pass and returned it 10 yards. He was equally outstanding as linebacker helping to hold St. Bede's to the 0-0 game. Dan Hellios was again great as quarterback and coach Tom Warren reports the whole team played strong offense and defense. The next game scheduled is St. Mary's of Woodstock which we'll report next week. The game time is 1 p.m. oh Sundays, how about a few spectators?
