Many of you will go, others will have Grandmother in, some will go to the city, others, farther out in the country, but, where ever you and your family go, may I wish you a Thanksgiving, full of 'Thanks' giving; Among the many blessings we, here at the Young household, will be counting, will be the blessing of living in an area where the awesome evidence of God's love surrounds us in the trees, the lakes, the sun and sky and the fields just recently harvested. WE GIVE THANKS! - v WOMEN'S CLUB "And a good time was had by all" would be an accurate report on the recent kick - off dinner held at the Mahon home. Orchids to the committee in charge who prepared the delicious chicken dinner complete with all the trimmings, including home made dessert. Those gals were: Earline Mettelka, Doris Filip, Joan Laskowski, Jo Janik, Helen Boettcher, Donna Kaspzyk, and Mary Mahon . . .also to Midge Teuber and Connie Hart who took charge of the games entertainment. ' Hie next meeting will be the Christmas party held on Wednesday, Dec. 11. • CUB SCOUT NEWS Two Den Mothers, Pat Hughes and Leone Kathan, represented Pack 458 at the CubScoiit Round table in McHenry last 1 week and got some wonderful ideas for future projects. The boys have been very busy at their weekly den meetings, Den 1 has just finished making 'shop aprons' and potato turkey decorations. Den 2 has made Thanksgiving baskets and turkey centerpieces and they have been practicing they physical fitness exercises. The Webelos Den made airplanes and have been carefully studying tfce Boy Scout Tenderfoot requirements, which they must learnto qualify for the Webeios badge. Several interesting activities are being planned for the boys and there are still openings in all the Dens, If any boy Is interested in joining this active group, contact Jack White, the Cubmaster. Once again the residents of Holiday Hills were most generous when the boys came around to collect can goods for the needy, and the boys were delighted. If you were not home when they, came to your door and would like to contribute, you may call Mary Mullins at 385-4703 | or drop if off at her home. ; GREETINGS Only one birthday comingup this week, and that's a Very special one at our house -- a happy, happy birthday to our Wendy, who will be 9 years old on Dec. 3. Greetings on that same day to Arlene and Herb Hill who will be celebrating their wedding anniversary. Many, many more! Two Licenses Revoked; Many Others Suspended The office of Secretary of State Paul Powell has announced the revocation of the driver licenses of Clarence Collins of Round Lake and Norman H. Daul of Crystal Lake, both for driving while intoxicated. Suspensions were ordered for Edward A. Bryant, William G. Don, Roberta L. Haneghan and Antone J. Stimpel of Crystal Lake, Robert A. Duensing and David C. Jorgenson of Algonquin, Larry D« Kibler of 134 Valley View, Like moor, Kenneth R. MacDonald of Harvard and Harold J. Young of 3305 E. Lake Shore, Wonder Lake, all for three violations, Danny R. Congdon of Richmond and Gregory F. Meusling of Woodstock for violation of curfew act. Probationary permits were issued to James T. Burnett, Jr. of Harvard and Harold J. Young of Wonder Lake. Women The Moose Hie Nov.19 meeting was called to order by Senior Regent Ila Hogan. Balloting was held, and the minutes of Nov. 5 meeting were read by Recorder Gloria ~ Flannigan. Invitations were also read inviting otar chapter to attend Star Recorder night Nov. 21 at the Harvard lodge and $tar Recorder night Nov* 26 at the Woodstock lodge. On Sunday, Nov. 17, our Green Cap girl, Junior Graduate Regent Marcella Strossner, and Junior Regent Carolyn Sima attended the Green Cap meeting at Morton Grove. It was reported that Mabel Thomas is in Memorial and feel sure she would be glad to receive a card from the co - wor tors. Our chapter had 56 inches of publicity for the November report.
