Spring road in McCullom Lake, and Mr. James F. Box, Jr., Lakemoojr, at the home of Judge John J. Kaufman, McHenry, Friday, Nov. 29, at 5:30 p.m. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Scarbrough, McCullom Lake, and the groom's parents are James F. Box, Sr., and the late Mrs. Box, Sommerville, Teim. For her informal post- Hianksgiving wedding, the former Miss Scarbrough wore a mini-length frock of white brocade which featured bell slee- VW. She selected gold accessores and wore a corsage of white orchids. Miss Joanne Reid, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, WilliamReid and close chum of the bride, served as maid of honor. For the occasion, she wore a street length dress of pale green dacron polyester, belted at the waist and featured two deep pleats on each side of the skirt from waist to hem. Hie members of the McHenry Senior Citizens club are ex- j cited about the first annual Christmas dinner party to be? held on Monday evening, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m.at the East campus. : lh addition to the lovely din- Holjday Outihg Of YMCA Includes "The Nutcracker" An outing of holiday fun is planned for youth and families by the Lake Region YMCA on Dec. 28, when a chartered bus will take participants to see the widely acclaimed, enchanting performance of "Hie Nutcracker," at the Chicago civic Opera House. The chartered bus will leave the Crystal Lake Plaza on Route 14 at 6:30 p.m. and return by 12:00. "Hie Nutcracker" is a yuletide experience that neither adults nor children will ever forget, so in order to avoid disappointment, early registration is advised. Although the outing is basically planned for family groups, youth who wish to attend without their parents will be accepted and supervised by an adult volunteer. MR. AND MRS. JOSEPH DI MAGGIO Miss Hieresa Marie Herdrick Was an attractive bride on Saturday, Nov. 30, at St. Patrick's Catholic church when she 1 became the bride of Mr. Joseph Louis DiMaggio. Miss Herdrick is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Herdrick of 1601 N. Riverside drive and Mr. DiMaggio is the son of Mrs. Antoinette DiMaggio of 1301 Fairview lane, McHenry, and the late Joseph DiMaggio. Rev* Fr. Leonard Guzzardo officiated at the 1:30 o'clock ceremony. Hie bride was radiant in a velvet, empire fashioned gown styled with sculptured neckline and adorned with Venice lace which was repeated at the midriff and on the kubuki sleeves. Hie lace also graced the front of her gown. She had a detachable chapel length train, bordered with lace. Her nylon illusion, two - tiered bouffant veil fell from a miniature crystal crown. The bride's sister, Mrs. Mathew Martorano of Lake Zurich acted as matron of honor. Miss Linda Herdrick of McHenry, her sister, was maid of honor and Miss Angel Cassaro, Miss Karen Carlisi and Miss Mary Tornabene, all of Chicago, cousins of the groom, were bridesmaids. Bonnie Herdrick, another sister of the bride, was junior bridesmaid. All were attired in turquoise colored chiffon dresses, empire style,! floor length, with scoop necklines banded at the midriff with Venice lace, which also trimmed the wrist length sleeves. They had matching petal crowns with maline, four-tiered bouffant veils. Her flower girls, Angela Mortorano and Annette Hociiv, nieces of the bride and groom respectively, wore turquoise chiffon dresses, styled similarly to those of the other attendants, except with full, short shirts. Their headpieces were matching bow half hats with maline, bouffant veils. Don DiMaggio of McHenry served his brother as best man and groomsmen were Joe Carlisi, Frank Carlisi, and Nick Diana, cousins of the groom, of CI4cago.ii r>s-j.-j v j v r^'- Mrs. Herdrick cliose a light blue, sleeveless crepe dress .with lace coat. Mrs. DiMaggio wore a lime green chiffon dress with bead trimming. A reception for the newlyweds was attended by 150, held at the Crystal Lake Moose Lodge. The young couple will make their home at 3711 Waukegan road, McHenry. The bride and groom are both 1966 graduates of McHenry high school. She is a beautician for Annel Wigs, McHenry and he is employed by Laurel Construction, Palatine. Plan March Wedding St. Pauls To Hold Holiday Smorgasbord For the fourth consecutive year, St. Paul Episcopal church will hold its smorgasbord at Edgebrook school, 701 Green street, on Saturday, Dec. 7, with serving from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be many tasty dishes prepared by the women of St. Paul's, plus the usual bakery table with homemade bread, pies, cookies, etc. for the sweet tooth. The public is invited to attend* afS§S ner, with table favors and centerpieces made by the Refreshment Committee, there will be a visit by Santa Claus. Mrs. Dolly Mazzarella of Wonder Lake, a member of the Senior Citizens club, will be Organist and will lead the group in the singing of Christmas carols. Christmas Organ music should be beautiful and impressive and blend in with the beauty and solemnity of the season. There will be several important guests at this dinner party. Tickets are selling fast, but some are still available. Interested persons may contact Mrs. Frank Crawford immediately. Reservations must be limited to 220 persons. Last week Monday, the club experienced one of its most heartwarming meetings, with the Christmas spirit prevalent. Arrangements For Snow Ball Are Completed All preparations are completed for the annual Snow Ball Dance sponsored by the Lakeland Park Women's club on Saturday evening, Dec. 7 at the Legion home. Those who may not care to dance will find enjoyment in visiting with friends or listening to a superb dance band. Hot beef sandwiches and coffee will be available at nominal prices. Tickets are available from any club member or from the ticket chairman, Lyda Radisch, 1712 N. Knoll avenue. They also may be^ door., . "Happy Birthday" was sung to those with birthdays in Nov* ember, and a special greeting to Mr. Baxter, who was 100 years old Nov. 26. The McHenry Choral club rendered several holiday selections, one extending greetings in the language of eight countries. A standing ovation was accorded them for their efforts as they departed from the hall. Set Saturday For Bake Sale Of Girl Scouts Hie Wonder Lake, Ringwcod and Richmond Girl Scout troops are preparing for their annual bake sale to be held at the East Wonder Lake fire house on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to the bake sale, the Scouts' mothers have hron working hard for white elephant items, new, used and handmade. Sara Borchardt Initiated Into Mu Phi Epsilon Mu Alpha chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon will have its initiation ceremonies on Dec. 7 at Simpson college in Indianola, Iowa. One of the girls to be-activated into this sorority was Miss Sara Borchardt, daughter of Ferdinand P. Borchardt of McHenry. Sara, age 21, is a junior at Simpson, majoring in voice. She was pledged into the sorority in the spring of 1968 on the' fans of her grade average, personality, initiative and dependability. Mu Phi Epsilon, an international music sorority in the professional field, has as its purpose the advancement of music in America and throughout the world, with a continuing emphasis on the promotion of musicianship and scholarship. Hie sorority now las 108 collegiate chapters and seventy - nine alumnae chapters. Mu Alpha, installed in 1917 at Simpson, takes an active part in the musical life of the school and community.
