WILLIAM WESLEY KUMPULA William Wesley Kumpula, 41, of 4910 W. Parkview, McCullom Lake, died suddenly in Victory Memorial hospital, Waukegan, late last Friday night, Dec. 6, after admittance on Wednesday^ His health had been impaired because of heart trouble. Services were held atthe Quiet Dale funeral home, Monday, at 2 p.m. the Rev. Herman Graef, Zion Lutheran church, McHenry, was the officiating clergyman. Burial was in Warren cemetery, Gurnee. Mr. Kumpula was born July 21, 1927, in Hancock, Mich. He also resided in Calumet, Mich. Then he moved to Waukegan, where he lived for twenty-two years, before moving to McCullom Lake with his family about four years ago. \ The deceased, a veteran of World War n, serving inme Navy, was employed as a sausage maker for Co-Op Trading Co. in Waukegan for seventeen years. At the time of death, he was employed as a meat cutter in Big Foot, 111. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice; and six children at home who include one daughter, Doreen and five sons. They are Ronald, Gary, Alan, Kent, and Dale. Preceded in death by his father, August in 1961, he also leaves his mother, Mrs. Katherine Kumpula, Larium, Mich.; seven sisters, Mrs. Lillian Jarvi and Mrs. Ann Mae Vikre of Waukegan; Mrs. Mary Foissotti, San Carlos, Calif.; Mrs. Dorothy Manninem, Calumet, Mich.; Mrs. JeanGuimari, Mohawk, Mich.; Mrs. Molly Leffler, Russell, 111.; and Mrs. Stella Mottonen, Laurium, Mich. His brothers include Gordon A. and Donald M. of Waukegan and John R. Kumpula of Minneapolis. Many nieces andnep^. hews complete the family. j / " ELIZABETH INGERSOL ' President of McCullom Lake for thgkpast twenty-eight years, Mrs. Elizabeth Ijngersol, 80, : was dead on arrival at McHenry ' hospital last Saturday, Dec. 7. The McHenry fire department^ was summoned for assistance but could not help. She was born Jan. 13, 1888, in Chicago and was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, in 1931. At the time of death, [ she was residing at 4814 W.| Parkview, McCullom Lake. Her survivors include her ' daughter, Mrs. Virgil (Ruth) Adams, McHenry; five sons, Joseph Smith and Harry Ingersol of Chicago and Charles, Everett and Kenneth, McCullom Lake; one sister, Mrs. Frank (Carrie) Kurth of McCullom Lake; and her brother, John Littlefield. She also leaves sixteen grandchildren and tein great-grandchildren. Visitation was held at the Peter Justen and Son funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday, with services in the home at 10 a.m. yesterday (Tuesday) with one of the St. Mary's parish priests officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery. LAURA H. CROWLEY Mrs. Laura H. Crowley of 1503 N. Park street, McHenry, died Sunday, Dec. 8, in -McHenry hospital after an illness of about a month. Mrs. Crowley, 76, was born Sept. 3, 1892, in Negaunee,~ Mich. She came to this com-. munity from Chieag6 aboutten years ago. Her husband. Robert R; Crowley, died July 23, 1957. Survivors are Harry L of Crystal Lake; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Norman Crowley, Mrs. Walter Jack and Mrs. Harvey Charlton, all of Chicago; a sopf James W.,preceded her iff death. f;~ Hie body rests at the Peter M. Ju£ten funeral home until 10 o'clock Thursday morning when Mass will be offered for her at St. Patrick's Catholic church, followed by burial in Queen of Heaven cemetery, Hillside. In lieu of flowers, • Masses would be appreciated. |LOUISA F. JANISZEWSKI Mrs. Louisa F. Janiszewski of 204 N.Riverside drive, Lake- * moor, died Dec. 5 at her home. She was 72 years of age. Mrs. Janiszewski was born Sept. 26, 1895. in Chicago. She bad resided here for about thirty five years, coming to the community from the Chicago area. *>5 Her husband, Josef, died Feb. 25, 1968. Survivors are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Albert C. (Lucille) Byrne, of Fort Bragg, N. C.; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Christinakis of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Elsie Zelenka of Lake moor and •' Mrs. Margaret Sandstrom of v Chicago; and one brother, George Zobjeck of Woodstock. ! Burial was in St. Patrick's cemetery. poor health for several years. Mrs. Fuchs was born June 27, 1882, in Austria. She had? resided in this area for thirty years but had visited in McHenry for a half century. Her husband, Ulrich, died thirty years ago. She leaves a daughter, Margaret, at home; two sons, Richard of Normal and Walter of Glenview; four grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. Rev. R.L. White officiated at services held at 2 o'clock Monday from the Peter M. Justen and Son chapel. Interment was private. BERNICE CARLSON Mrs. Bernice Carlson, 57, of 3206 Park drive, Wonder Lake, died Thursday, Dec. 5, in Memoria 1 hospital, Woodstock. She was 57 years old. Mrs. Carlson was a member of the woman's auxiliary of the Wonder Lake Legion post. Besides her husband, John, she leaves three daughters, Mrs. Clifton (Dolores) Cotten of Baton Rouge, La., Mrs. Rudolph (Florence) DiFiglia , of Chicago and Marlene at home; six grandchildren; two WED. ,DR;Vsfl,T968- -p<& 3: A daughter was born Dec. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Klecan of Ingleside announce the birth of a son Dec. 2. A daughter was born Dec. 4 to Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Browning of Wauconda. Richard Stilling of River Grove announce the birth of a daughter, Dec. 3 at West Suburban hospital, Oak Park. She weighed 7 lbs. 12 oz, and has a brother, Terry, 5, and a sister, Kelly Ann, 2 for playmates. The maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pudlek and the great-grandparents on the mother's side are the Senior Pudleks, all of Elmhurst. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Stilling are the paternal grandparents and Mrs. Rose Powers of Bedford, N.H. is the paternal great-grandmother. Cowley of Canton, 111., will join the Blackhawk Area council staff as a district executive for the Winnebagadistrict pn Jan. ^, 1969, it wast announced by Reinhold G. Mil* ler, Scout executive. . Cowley presently serves as a district scout executive in the Creve Coeur council in Peoria, 111., and serves the district where he lives. His Scout professional experience dates back to June, 1956, when he became an assistant district Scout executive in Springfield. He was, subsequently, promoted to district Scout executive and served in Gary, Ind„ for four years before moving to his present council at Peoria. He has had broad experience in the various executive positions which include supervision of summer caigp, advisor to Order of the Arrow, secretary to the Council Advancement Committee and Council Staff Advisor for Exploring. He had also worked closely with Community Chest Organizations in the various communities in which he lived. Mr. and Mrs. Cowley have two children.
